He met with the raiders Monday who reportadly made him an offer. He is starting to receive some interest around the league what would you guys think of him?

Personally I am a little torn on the idea of adding him. On one hand having a dynamic returner would be nice especially punt returns. On the other hand losing a roster spot for another WR that may be productive in the passing game in a year or two for a return specialist that doesnt have much time left concerns me.

So hopefully we made a low offer and if he accepts he accepts. I am ok either way but if we are thinking long term not sure if that is the best option. I guess we will see if some of these rookies or UDFA's have any return skills this weekend.

I'm in the same boat. I'll miss seeing Jacoby on returns too. Apparently the Jets were interested too and he met with them. But he left without a contract as well. IIRC there's another team interested too. Him leaving NY/NJ without a deal is a good sign for us if we want him though.

I'm of the same mind, although I would feel better if someone comes in and takes over return duties so that Jacoby Ford can (hopefully) concentrate and stay healthy for the slot receiver role.

Quote:
Rapoport reported during "NFL Total Access" that Cribbs passed a physical for his knee during his Raiders visit. The Raiders offered Cribbs a contract, per Rapoport, but three other teams are interested.

According to a source, Rapoport said one of the three teams is the New York Jets, whom Cribbs is expected to visit next.

Cribbs visited the Jets on Wednesday and will visit the Giants next, according to Rapoport.

Ford is too much of an injury risk to have return kicks. If Ford is in our long term plans picking up Cribbs makes perfect sense. It would start to get a little crowded with our Wideouts.

Because someone gets hurt playing a contact sport does not make them a wuss. DMAC is as punishing a runner as you'll find.

Josh Cribbs remains in demand. After meeting with Raiders, Jets and Giants this week, he's on to Detroit next.
