While that's true, turtle28 but man... the draft classes of 08' and 09' hurt us badly. If you can't replace a pro bowler, you either sign a free agent with a respectable caliber or a high pick. We now are replacing our either "starters" or unproven starters instead of pro bowlers. Yeah, I don't consider mike wallace a pro bowler but he was replacing Santonio Holmes who I would consider a pro bowler if wasn't for his off-field issues and ego. Worilds pick was supposed to replace Harrison, but we now are replacing Worilds or maybe they have a different plan for Jarvis Jones.

Only true "upgradeable" I see is with our O-line and secondary and O-line is still far from proven. As fans, its not that difficult to see when you know FO made a mistake or more, but its even harder for us homers to admit it Kevin Colbert just might have blew it with two classes.

I agree with Kethnaab, I don't even think we are in position to bench rookies in first year or two due to the "complex of scheme" because truthfully our currently rookies just might be upgrades right away.
I don't think we know about Worilds vs Jones yet. Remember Upshaw was supposed to replace Jarrett johnson and then Suggs when he was hurt, but he was only a part time player.

I think the reason they took Jones was he was the best on the board and Woodley hasn't been healthy for 2 years straight.

I agree about Mike Wallace but we did replace him with Emmanuel Sanders.

Thought manny sanders were kind of replacing hines ward? I mean you draft players for similar players you have on roster that either need depth or to be replaced. Argumentative, Markus Wheaton is replacing Mike Wallace.

That's a very probable fact. Emmanuel Sanders first of all, only replaces Mike Wallace with his inconsistent hands, they have that in common. Sanders isn't slow but he's also, imo, not Wheaton or especially Wallace fast. I think Wheaton comes in as a better receiver than Sanders is already, at least in terms of his catch consistency. Emmanuel Sanders' bread and butter is in the slot imo.

Sanders had 3 dropped passes last year...2 of them in the same game.

Sanders hands arent inconsistent.

Wallace had 6 drops last seasons, but even his hands arent as inconsistent as bitter Steeler fans like to claim they are.

Sanders has lower drop rates than alot of the top receivers in this league. Every player is going to drop some passes. Im not saying Sanders will be great this year, but you are wrong in your assessment.

And just because Wheaton is "replacing" Mike Wallace's SPOT on the roster doesnt mean he is replacing his ROLE. Hell, it doesnt necessarily mean he should make the team (he WILL, just saying that simply being drafted to replace Wallace doesnt make him a lock).

Also, Im not sure how you can say Wheaton is better in terms of catch consistency when he hasnt even played a down in this league. Even if he had better hands coming out, that doesnt mean he will in the NFL.

You're right, it doesn't mean that he'll have better hands in the NFL.

I disagree about the inconsistency bit, first of all, Mike Wallace has some of the most inconsistent hands in the game for someone who is supposed to be a #1 WR. 6 might be the official stat but I'm sure if you watch the game film there's plenty more that weren't counted toward the official stats, same with Sanders. I'm also not just talking about his ability to catch the ball, but also to KEEP ahold of it (fumbles). To be fair the ENTIRE offense was inconsistent as hell last season.

Truth be told, you beat me to that question, I was literally about to ask that.

Hey, honestly, I think you and I could agree on one thing 43, I don't even care about what our WR's did or how they fit into the system as long as they succeed in doing so! Wink

Neither have but Robinson has better upside over Carter who has gotten some playing time.

what upside? I'm not saying Robinson won't develop into something, frankly I have no clue, but at this point I don't see how you can think he has more upside.

You mean you don't see how you feel Robinson has a better chance of making the roster over Carter. By watching those two platers during preseason and limited game time for Carter, I feel Robinson is better at getting after the QB whereas Carter simply goes upfield and the play is over.

I guess we'll see. I haven't seen one greatly outplay the other

Too early to say anything either way, but I do agree Robinson probably has the better chance of making the roster. Neither have shown much, but I was definitely more impressed with Robinson. Not to say he will be any good...just better than Carter.
