The 49ers and Levi's will make an announcement later this morning during which a naming-rights deal is expected between the San Francisco-based jeans manufacturer and the 49ers.

I like that we got an advertiser that doesn't necessarily sound like an advertisement. I can say "Levi Stadium" and not automatically think of some sort of product. I hate when that happens.

It's better than having an "INC", "CORP" or ".com" in the stadium name.

I can't help that you think immediately of jeans, but Rudy is right, and that's more or less what I'm talking about. "Levi Stadium" doesn't really make me think of jeans..."levi strauss stadium" may have, and something like "levi corp stadium" would definitely make me think of a business.

Levi's Stadium is fine for a name. The only problem is it doesn't quite roll off the tongue as good as Candlestick does. As a Laker fan, I went through a similar transition going from "The Forum" to "Staples Center". I can tell you that it will be weird saying "Levi's Stadium" at first, but eventually you get used to it.

It's the Raider stadium name, Overstock.com. Just an example of a bad name that makes you think of a corporation.
