T Winston Justice will visit the Lions tomorrow. The Cowboys, who are trying to get RT Doug Free to take a big paycut, have been in contact

They said they'd look into bringing in a veteran OLman, so this is no suprise.

You're right. Forgot about Mayhew saying that.

PFF had him as the 10th best available tackle in free agency:

Quote:
Summary: Having started the season like a house on fire (+8.2 after Week 6) Justice’s season tailed off as the year went on and he ended the season playing at a level similar to the rest of the Colts’ line, which was not very good. That said, what he did avoid in Indianapolis this season were the absolutely disastrous single-game performances that blighted his time in Philadelphia and sapped the confidence in him, coloring the opinion of fans and media on his talent.

You have to understand the limitations you’re getting with Justice, and no one will be signing him as an unrivaled starter this offseason, but his performance in the first half of the season for the Colts should at least see him get a chance to win a job somewhere.

I'm cool with it, let Justice battle it out with Fox and Hilliard. If Fox/Hilliard can't handle to starting spot, Justice is a solid fall-back option.

Me too. I'm more uncomfortable at DE than I am OT. Sad

Winston would be nice depth which is fine and all, but Freeney could potentially be the piece that turns us into a contender THIS season.

Eff it, might as well ball out like Illitch.

Won't happen unless it's accompanied by a plush contract for Matthew unfortunately.

Couldnt hurt to bring him in; I dont think.

Id still like to bring in Moore even though it probably wont happen.

Id have no problem sitting Warford for a year. Or just letting them 2 and Sims battle it out.

I would like Winston to come in and Compete for the RT spot with Hilliard and Fox

LT- Reiff LG- Sims OC- Dom/Nagy RG- Warford RT- Hilliard/Fox/Winston

I dont see this being as bad as an oline as everyone talks about.

Reiff Played VERY well when he was asked to go in. having Reiff next to our best Vet in Sims will help a lot.

Warford is a great option at RG to plug and play. Hilliard Fox and possibly Winston to battle for RT will be serviceable.

I also have read that DE is still a position of weakness.....??

Jones at 6'5 275 slides right into KVBs old position and is younger and relentless. Do not see a downgrade here.

Ansah- in our wide-9 scheme fits his freakish skill set very well. I do not see him becoming a pro powler right away but the more football he plays I feel like he will get better every practice and every game.

Young- Even tho he was a never a starter for us yet. he played over 550+ snaps last year for us and played well. Not amazing but did solid getting pressure on the QB.

Devin Taylor- yes another rookie but him being 6'7 270lbs and is very explosive and fast will be nothing but a good fit in our scheme.

SDE- Jones 6'5 275 Taylor 6'7 270
DT- Fairley 6'3 300, Jones 6'5 275
DT- Suh 6'4 305, Mosely 6'3 310
WDE- Ansah 6'5 270, Young 6'5 255, R Lewis 6'2 245

We have a bunch of athletic big bodied guys on our Dline that we can mix and match according to the game situation. I do NOT see our DE being a weakness at all.

We have one all pro DT, a flashy DT next to him in Fairley, we have a ultra athletic DT playing DE because he is only 275lbs in Jones that can set the edge and hold up against the run, Ansah is a special talent with size and speed to be a great sack guy, Taylor if he plays 100% all the time can be a special rush DE which I dont think our Dline coach will accept anything but 100% all the time, Young has good nfl experience and can be a mis match with his quickness and speed and hustle, Mosley is a great signing for depth to be a solid run supporter.

I just dont see our DE being a weakness.

Thats an optimistic look at our DE's.

I dont believe its a weakness either, but I do think adding a proven vet like Freeney or Abraham could go a long ways for us.

Jones has not proven to be an effective starter at DE.

Ansah may be terrible his first year.

Taylor may be even worse.

Willie was primed for a breakout last year, and disappointed.

In our scheme, DE is not a position you should leave to optimism. Its a position where we need consistency. If not, then we could be looking at picking top 5 again.
