We've reached the boring part of the offseason with nothing much going on. I saw this a few months ago on the Jaags forum, and thought it could be a way to get some conversation going.

Here's the rules:
Quote:
**please read the instructions and information before you make your vote**

You guys should know the drill by now

But here are a few changes:

-If you vote, PLEASE in turn post in thread 1) Who you voted for 2) Who you would like to be added to the next poll

-Thread is open to discussion about anything pertaining to the rankings. You may respectfully disagree with someone's selection, but please do not "bash" or criticize someone for making a selection. I would like each selection to be made purely off of opinion, no pressure

-If you are a fan of another team just dropping by, feel free to submit a vote or join the discussion. Outside perspective is always welcome

-I will keep this going until we 1) Complete a 30 man roster 2) or interest drops off to the point where the process loses its function, in which cases the amount will be rounded off. At the end i would like to get this stickied as the official 2013 Falcons player rankings

1. Cam Newton
2. Charles Johnson
3.
4.
5.

I am proud to pick Keek with this pick. He really showed us what a true warrior he was at the LB position last year. Looking forward to many more years with Keek raising havoc on the field.

I gotta agree, Luke Kuechly, amazingly, is in the upper echelon of MLB already.

I'm going with Kuechly on this one, he's the brains behind our defense. We got significantly better with him at the MIKE last year.

I've got Luke at our number 1 or 2. I'm really confused that we elected Cam number 1. Am I the only one who thinks cam is a wash already?

I think we would be in worst trouble if Smith was injured, then if Luke was.

Laughing Laughing
Welcome to the forum, I guess.

I'd just like to say Adam Schein is the scum of this earth. Listening to him talk is cringe worthy.

That was one of the most ridiculous articles I've seen written and surprisingly, it has very little to do with his shortsighted views on Newton.

Nonetheless, can we get to know if this is supposed to be about importance or skill? It is why I'm not sure who to go with. If we're just talking skill, I think Kuechly still has stuff to learn or prove at MLB even though he has a very bright future. Kalil is arguably the best center in football.

Here is Panthers writers response to it. Has some good insight at the end since he's allowed in locker room right after game before other media.

Quote:
After that Week 17 win over New Orleans, head coach Ron Rivera was emotional as he addressed the team. Newton put his arm around his coach and grabbed the attention of the room (pictured above).

“Everybody in this locker room, none of you gave up,” Newton said. “Coach, we didn’t give up on you, man.”

Newton raised his voice.

“There are a lot of things that happened in games this season, where we were this close. We could have done just a little bit more. We could have given just a little bit more. You all know it. I know it. Think about that this offseason.”

That was the final locker room speech of the season. Newton was the voice of the team. And everybody in that room was listening.
