That's a wierd picture of a o-lineman lol.

We needed some O-line depth desperatly at OT. Idk how good he his. Hopefully he can be a good backup swingman tackle that can be servicable at LT.

da'fuq??? We just got rid of Colon, now we sign Guy Whimper? moves like this really make me think the Steelers are fuggin' idiots. good lord, just as I was starting to get optimistic about the team.

Guy Whimper is truly one of the worst offensive linemen in the NFL. Please I hope he's just a camp body.

7 penalties, 19 sacks, in 22 games

good lord

That's because Whimper became so bad and was making so much money that the Jags tried to use him any way possible and turned him into a 3rd TE... he caught 3 passes for 28 yards and a TD.

He has started 22 career games with the Jaguars, and won a Super Bowl with the Giants so at least he has some starting experience.

From what I hear he wasn't very good as a starter, but it doesn't look like he would be starting here so maybe he could be a decent backup.

Before this signing the backup OT was......Beachum. Unless Gilbert pulls a Gilbert we won't have to worry about it. More proof that the team is sold on Adams/Gilbert.

Yea but can Beachum play LT? I always looked at Beachum as more of a RT/G.

i think we signed Whimper because he can play LT and RT and have him as a swingman T. Instead of having to move the RT to LT and plug in Beachum at RT if the LT goes down.

Y'all are funny. Some of you seem to think every signing is suppose to be an automatic starter.

Those stats would have been even worse if Marcedes Lewis wasn't staying in to block so often, and Gabbert didn't release the ball as quickly as he does. I have never seen an o-lineman play as poorly as he did. There were times he would completely miss the guy right in front of him and just let a free rush hit our QB. You'd better hope that he doesn't play, or Ben might end up dead.

Hopefully he's just a camp body, because I wouldn't wish his terribleness on any team, including old AFC Central rivals.

does he get paid? yes.
Do we pay him money that counts against the cap? Yes.
Do we have a tight cap budget? Yes.
Does money spent on him preclude possibly spending that money on somebody else who doesn't suck horribly? Yes.
