This is a completely moot discussion IMO.

Not only is Kuper not healthy and may never be, but even last year when he was healthy Beadles out-played him. Cut Kuper and re-sign Beadles at LG. Zane wont get a Vasquez deal anyways.

Im not sure what our cap situation looks like but I would like to see how much money is coming off the books before saying Beadles and Decker cant be re-signed. Remember, Elvis and DJ are counting as dead money this year, thats like $10M right there.

2014 core

QB: Manning
RB: Ball, Hillman
WR: Thomas, Welker, (AN other)(Decker free agent)
TE: Tamme, Dreessen
OL: Clady, Franklin, Vasquez, (TWO others)(Walton and Beadles free agents, Kuper possible cut)
DT: Knighton, Williams, Vickerson
DE: Wolfe, Smith(AT Least one more)(Ayers and Phillips free agent)
LB: Miller, Irving, Trevathan(Woodyard free agent)
CB: Bailey, Bolden, Webster(Harris and Carter are both restricted free agents, both will likely be brought back and Harris will probably get a pay day, DRC will probably be let go if Webster/Bolden/Carter have good seasons)
S: Moore, Carter(Adams free agent)

QB: We know where we are here, everyone is under contract.

RB: We have our 1-2 punch now

WR: Possible need here, depends on what we do with Decker and how highly we rate King, we might only need depth.

TE: No need

OL: Major question marks here. We're set at both Tackles and RG, if we can get Kuper healthy then kick Vasquez to the Left side. The remaining question mark is Centre, to me Walton is a priority re-signing because I trust backups like King and Kuper to step up more than Philip Blake.

DT: Any pickup will be a luxury with the top 3 under contract

DE: Major need imo. Ayers will be a smart re-signing because he won't be too expensive. If he has a good season, and Quanterus Smith is ready to take over as the pass rush specialist, then we might not need anybody other than giving Ayers a cheap contract, however if not then we might need to invest in a 3 down player.

LB: Not a need unless Irving has a bad year, we might re-sign Wesley Woodyard but it depends on how we feel about Danny Trevathan.

CB: Not a need, I doubt we'll end up keeping DRC.

S: Depends how we feel about Q.Carter, if Adams walks and the front office aren't confident this might be a key need.

Re-signing priority

1. Walton
2. Decker
3. Beadles
4. Ayers
5. Woodyard

I'm high on Trev so Woodyard might be expendable.

Tight end could potentially be a big need, Tamme/Dreessen only one more year each, and we could use a dynamic threat.

Dreessen isn't a FA until after the 2014 season. Same with Tamme.

Dreessen will be 32 at the end of his deal, while Tamme will be 30. I could see us comfortably sticking with both after this year.

Shoulda been clearer, meant one more year after this, so by the time the draft hits, they would be here max one more.

Last season, I thought I would outfox everybody and wait a bit longer for Luck to fall in my keeper league of mostly German players. Waited too long. Won't happen again once Bridgewater comes out. That QB is legit!

One guy who I have my eye on in the later portions of the 1st is David Yankey, OT/OG Stanford. I think he can play OT but can be an elite OG talent. I too think someone will overpay for Beadles so I think replacing is a good bet

You may be right. Beadles will likely get a good amount of money from some team but I do also believe he really enjoys his home here. He might give Denver a discount.

One writer's top-50 list of college players:
http://www.nfl.com/draft365/rankings

That list seems too heavy on QBs and misses many small school players but overall it seems like a good starting point for watching players this fall.

What do you guys see as your primary needs after this season? As one can only make a prediction based on contracts that will run out after this season right now, I'd say it's OG/C, WR and LB.

Even though i am expecting Robert Ayers to show up this season, i think you could throw DE in as well. At this point it is a bit of an unknown and should the possible combination of Ayers, Smith, and Phillips not perform a pass rusher opposite Miller could be a huge need.

After the last few days, I don't see how a versatile C/G prospect won't be the pick late in the first round. Both Pouncey's as well as Mack were a couple of recent mid to late first round prospects I was very intrigued by when they came out. Of course I don't know prospects too well until the Combine comes around, but I bet there are a couple of nice potential hogs to be had right around where we will pick in the next draft.

I don't disagree, but much like DE it will all depend on development and moves Denver makes. For example, many think Zane Beadles is going to be allowed to test FA next season. Though, Denver could very well sign him in a long term contract for starters money. If that is the case, interior OL (at this point in the process, and i emphasis that) would be a long shot. As of now the draft doesn't have a top flight Center and i don't know that any of the high rated guards could translate there. With that, Denver would have to OG's signed to long term contracts at starters money.

It's incredibly difficult to speculate what the Broncos may do in May at this point. Denver does have a good roster with solid depth and some of that depth being young players drafted during the Elway regime.

Though, i still believe CB is eventually going to be an early (maybe even 1st round) target. Champ Bailey is getting old and DRC is only signed through a year. Chris Harris i still feel is best utilized as a nickel CB, where he has been terrific unless he is facing Wes Welker...which isn't a worry anymore. I even love the potential of both Bolden and Webster..especially Webster. However, the NFL has been trending toward bigger CB's and i really believe if a good sized corner is available in the 1st round Denver is going to gobble him up.

It's an interesting situation. If DRC plays lights out this year next year will give the FO some tough choices. IE: do you pay Champ another $9million for his 16th season or let him go and use the money to get DRC long term.

It's not really that unlikely a scenario.

He is a former scout so I give a little bit more stock in his opinion than most writers. That said I agree with you on too many QB's, and Kyle Van Noy should be way higher than #48. I watch a lot of BYU games and IMO he was far and away better than Ziggy Ansah, and it wasn't even close.
I also think Will Sutton should be higher, that guy took over games as a DT.

So Sammy Watkins would be a great addition to this team, unbelievable speed.
