Packers 2012 awards

Iím bored and thought this might be a fun gameÖ

MVP = Most Valuable Packer
POTY = Packer of the Year

Also I like to throw a few linemen awards in there since they normally donít get much attention in the awards.

If you could give out awards to the Packers players who would you give these awards to?

Also if you want, you can do something like, try not give any one player more than one award to make it more interesting and make you think deeper.

Also you can add any comments you might want to add...

2012 (so last year)

Team MVP: QB Rodgers

Offensive POTY: WR Cobb

Defensive POTY: OLB Matthews

Offensive Lineman MVP: OG Sitton
Iím not sure who was even close to Sitton, this last year.

Defensive Lineman MVP: DL Pickett
Pickett had 51 combined tackles last year, next on the DL was Raji with 26, big drop off there and the DL got their butts handed to them by the 49ers OL, other than Pickett and Danials. So Iím going with Pickett.

Most Improved Offensive Player: WR Jones
Best answer is probably Cobb but I already gave him an award. I think I could argue RB Green improvement but I have to go with WR Jones, 14 touchdowns in one year. He had 13 touchdowns in his first four years so that is a big improvement.

Most Improved Defensive Player: CB House
So many good choices but I got to go with House. From two games one year to best CB in training camp (according to CB coach), an injury took the start of the season from him but he still got in 9 games and 5 starts.

Comeback Offensive Player: RB Harris
Out of the NFLÖ shown some good potential. Nice come back, and I think heíll have a chance to make the final roster even with two very talented draft pick added at his position.

Comeback Defensive Player: Tie LB Jones / DE Neal
Iíve heard so much about how both these guys are done and going to be gone very soonÖ but Jones stepped up at ILB and got 77 tackles and 10 starts. Where Neal was able to get 4.5 sacks in 11 games and showed some potential which he didnít show much of last year.

Most Underrated Offensive Player: WR Nelson
Doesnít have the best speed but still has a great knack of getting open deep with very good/great route running.

Most Underrated Defensive Player: S Burnett
I think I heard he was the only defender who played every snap. Lead the team in tackles and lead the DBs in leadership with Woodson injured. I think he could be even better if Jennings or McMillian are able to handle more of the FS role.

MVP of Offensive Rookies: Barclay

MVP of Defensive Rookies: Hayward
Played GREAT for a rookie.

Team MVP: Aaron Rodgers

Offensive POTY: Randall Cobb

Defensive POTY: Clay Matthews III

Offensive Lineman MVP: Josh Sitton

Defensive Lineman MVP: B.J. Raji (but Mike Neal toward the end)

Most Improved Offensive Player: James Jones (really just more opportunites)

Most Improved Defensive Player: A.J. Hawk?

Comeback Offensive Player: None

Comeback Defensive Player: Mike Neal

Most Underrated Offensive Player: Jermichael Finley (because of how much hate he gets)

Most Underrated Defensive Player: Brad Jones

MVP of Offensive Rookies: Don Barclay?

MVP of Defensive Rookies: Casey Hayward

Plug Greg Jennings in at Comeback Offensive Player and I completely agree with jfin's list.

Why would he win that for last year? He got hurt for a few games in 2011 and had a career worst year in 2012. He didn't come back well at all.

I hope he doesn't come back very well in 2013 too. Wink

Because the only options are him and Alex Green? (I think, somebody get me a list of candidates)
