Who would you take with the pick? At this point the top 3 players mentioned in mock drafts are Teddy Bridgewater QB, Jadaveon Clowney DE, and Jake Mathews OT.

Bridgewater has had a meteoric rise to the top of the draft class which may be warranted or may not be. He still has a lot to prove before he can be taken number one overall. I have watched interviews and game film on him and he appears to have the mindset/skills to be a successful NFL Qb.

Personally I would draft Clowney as of right now. Clowney is a once in a decade DE. He has all the skills to be a stud at the next level and looks like a manchild playing at the college level. Most definitely the safest pick of the bunch but he does play DE but I can't remember the last time a DE has lead a team to the Superbowl.

Don't know much about Mathews but he appears to be the best LT in this draft. Vledheer is a FA after next season, granted I expect him to have a very good season now that he is juiced out of his mind and sign a long term deal to stay here. That being said we all know how bad our line is and even though we drafted a young player (Watson) to play RT this year he is a project player. A lock down stud LT would really be nice and would help shore up this sub par group.

Where this franchise is at in terms of rebuilding you have to go with the safe pick here. I can see some wanting to take a risk on a potential franchise QB or shore up the OL with a stud tackle. If I was drafting solely based on positions of need I would have to go QB, DE then LT. Lets hear your opinions and why you would take that player.

Clowney for sure. We just traded for Flynn, drafted a potential QBOTF in Wilson, and have the highly questionable Pryor. I would rather draft the best defensive prospect in years, and roll with Wilson honestly.

If the raiders determine bridgewater is a franchise qb, then they better take him.

If Raiders have #1 pick, good chance Dennis Allen and his staff will be fired also if we go 2-14 or whatever I can't see Flynn coming back either... So QB it is.

Clowney without a question. This is a passing league and you need guys like him to disrupt QBs rhythm. He would make DJ Hayden better & vice versa....

Bridgewater will be the truth though. I'll take a defensive freak though.....

I voted Teddy, because as Raiders006 said, if they determine him to be a franchise QB than that has to be the pick.

I'd love Clowney but a QB can make all the difference. Personally if I had the first pick I'd trade it, that's RG3 type compensation or maybe a little more.

I'm the most confident in Clowney out of everyone.

If I were hitching a wagon to one of the 3 stooges we're stuck with I'd go Wilson long term.

So where is the cutoff for DA to be retained? I think this team at very best wins 6 games, most likely 4. DA does not have much to work with here and I think firing him would be a bad move regardless of how many wins this team has. 2, 4 or 6 wins so what? This team is not being assembled to win this year, it is a progression and we are in the beginning stages of of assembling the team that RM and DA want.

I think RM wants to stick with DA and get away from the old Raiders mentality and that being win now or else your out of here. Your expectations with the talent level of this team have to be realistic considering the roster purge we have went through this last year. Rome wasn't built in a day and DA is not the typical Raider coach of the past 15 years. He is a smart, intelligent young HC who should have a long career in the NFL, not like the other bums who were our HC's, get fired and now are at best assistant Oline coaches in the arena league lol.

I also think Flynn is going to impress a lot of people this year. He is much better than most people think and is a better fit for this team than CP was. If Bridgewater is the "truth" and considered a true franchise QB after this college season then it would be a tough choice for the Raiders to have to make. It sounds like Clowney is a can't miss DE but like I said in my prior post DE's don't win Super Bowls. The NFL is a qb driven league and if Bridgewater lives up to the hype machine witch seems to be in full effect right now he should be the pick.

Pulling out my crystal ball and projecting what happens next year Clowney should go number 1 overall...

Maybe he should, but the last once in a decade DE went second overall to a QB as well.

I think it would be pretty funny if Derek somehow shoots up draft boards and gets picked over Clowney, like David was picked over Peppers.

As much as I like Derek, that won't happen.

BPA. Clowney all day. We have a few years of rebuilding so take the qb the next year. I am not nearly as sold on teddy as I am clowney.
