For bookkeeping purposes, Tyson Clabo got a 1-yr deal worth $3.5M. That's $1M guaranteed and $2.5M base salary.

Very nice. Solid choice. Ideally we would have found a LT but I can't complain. Jeff is getting harder to hate by the day!

And our roster is finally complete! No glaring holes to fill anymore. Of course I'm sure some guys will underperform and others will get injured and we will have new holes next offseason, but this is the first year in a long time that I can honestly say, we are a complete football team. We have a QB (Who still needs to prove himself, but at least the potential is there). We have a LT (Same as above), There is competition at the OG positions to push the guys who are there. Solid RB options to compete. Our WR's are much improved and a better fit. Between Sims and Keller, I think we will be set at TE for at least this year.

Defensively we lost Smith, but gained Grimes and Taylor who are better fits. We finally got the other pass rusher, and revamped the LB core. Every position either has above average starters or guys to come in and compete except maybe at FS? Although a lot of people like what they saw from one of the UDFA safeties on day one. We will see how it all plays out, but I really like the way this team is shaping up!

This should be a much improved team. He isn't the perfect fir scheme wise at RT, but he is the most talented of any of the OT FA's in my opinion, so he will be a fantastic addition. I think if somehow Jerry gets his head on straight or Louis does decent in his place, and one of either Thomas, Yeatman, or Martin steps up at LT, then this offense will be legit!!

I think Clabo instantly becomes the second best player on that line.

As rookie Duane Brown was our 4th lowest ranked LT. Trent Williams 9th lowest. Both top 15 last year. Let's not write off Martin so soon.

Food for thought....

Clabo should be fine in a ZBS. I don't think it'll effect him that much. He moves pretty well in space from what I have seen.

You want to have your RT have a little more power in his game and I think he will be fine. I wanted Winston because he has pretty much played zone scheme his whole like but Clabo is probably the better football player right now

Dolphins have had a very good off season, we all realize that doesn't mean a damn thing in September, you still have to go out and win games.

But at least our response is nothing like the Jets to the offseason as being "we got rid of our best player, drafted at bunch of jabronis and kept a head coach whose best attribute is a foot fetish"

I agree. Although Winston has familiarity with ZBS, his pass blocking skills were average. The only knock on this move is in taking the older player. Outside of that, seems to be a good move.

I am just praying this offensive line stays together and allow itself to mature.

And it's a 1 year deal, so the age is nearly irrelevant.

Clabo is a better pass blocker and run blocker than Winston. His mean streak is big too. Richie/Pouncey/Clabo are mean. Martin too isn't afraid to mix it up.
