OK maybe I have been living under a rock but I search D.Thomas high lights on YouTube. And all of them have (Optimus Prime). When did he get this nick name? I thought it was Bay bay.

This article from late 2011 might be the first mention of that nickname for Thomas:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/28/demaryius-thomas-wants-to-model-himself-on-megatron/

Other players were nicknamed "Optimus Prime" too. For example, Julius Peppers:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGtlE1ivlto

and Julio Jones:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkPgJ2IL67I

and even Brent Grimes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2MUdGqTN8o

There's an unwritten rule that you can't give yourself a nickname. Somebody will make a dumb joke or comment ... and it just sticks. New DT Terrance Knighton picked up the nickname "pot roast" and he probably wishes he wasn't called that.

Maybe somebody will come up with a nickname for the starting WR group like the "Three Amigos" from a dozen years ago. Any suggestions?

In baseball, Randy Johnson was nicknamed "Big Unit" because a team-mate accidentally bumped into him and then, after having to tip his head way back to see 6'10" Johnson's face, said something like "you really are a big unit". Another team-mate overheard it, repeated the phrase to the rest of the team, and the nickname was soon permanent.

Its a piggyback off the GT connection between Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas. Same school, same position, same theme.

Q Smith won't contribute much this season. The Fantastic Four should include Sly instead.

Additionaly, according to Woody's Wikipedia page, he is nicknamed 'the lumberjack'.

Optimus Prime is good, but I like calling DT Downtown because he is a deep threat.

That is a really great perk of losing Doomervil that I didn't think of. Everyone always mispelled Dumerville's real name and it used to drive me crazy Laughing

Youre getting a little far ahead of yourself dude....

I bet you Wesley Woodyard has more sacks this year than Quanterus Smith.

The REAL "Fantastic Four" is: Von Miller/Von Miller's Speed/Von Miller's Swim Move/Von Miller's bullrush

Really interesting, but I read the other day he finished the season at around 250lbs. Wants to play this year at 262 and figures he can do it without any loss of speed or athleticism.

That's scary! Shocked
