Who is the best OLB wrecking crew In the AFC North? (2012 Tackle/sack #'s)

- Vontaze Burfict(127/1) and James Harrison(70/6) (Cincy)

----------------------------------------------

- Jabaal(55/7), KeKe(Rook), and Paul(42/9) (CLE)

-----------------------------------------------

- Terrell Suggs(22/2), Elvis Dumervil(54/11), and Courtney Upshaw(60/1.5) (BAL)

---------------------------------------------

- Jarvis Jones(Rook), Lamarr Woodley(38/4), and Jason Worlids(27/5)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who would you give the edge to considering the recent shake up?
Cleveland, Baltimore, Cincy, or Pitt?
Don't be a happy homer (give reasons for and against)

Here's my take:

Cleveland and Pitt both host rookies who could turn into potential edge rushing stars(Keke, and Jarvis). They also possess Veterans whom will be solid and heavy setting edge setters for thier team for years to come(Kruger, and Woodley). They also possess young up-and-coming ball players in (Sheard and Worlids) who are can make an impact on any given game day.

Cincinnati has a crafty veteran in Harrison who can still lay the wood, and a young second year man (Burfict) who is coming into his own with 127 tackles in his rookie season. Also can LAY the wood. (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvcsffTQojI)
(Heavy Hitters)

Baltimore has a legit star in Suggs, and a proven edge rusher in Dumervil - but he still must adjust to a new position in olb. They also also have a young up-and-coming second year man (Upshaw) who can be a force in the running game.

I give the edge right now to BAL, followed closely by CLE and Pitt, then Cincy.

*Bonus*----- Which olb duo has the best names

(Bal) Elvis and Terrell

(CLE) Barkevious and Jabaal

(Cin) Vontaze and James

(Pit) Jarvis and Lamaar

-----Elvis, Barkvious, Jarvis, and Vontaze sounds like a garage band... also would make a mighty fine LB group. Just food for thought...

GO!

Terrell and Dumervil give the Ravens the best in the AFC North and one of the best in the league. I think we are second and have a load of potential but until we prove something Baltimore is the answer.

Who has a better duo in the league than these two in BAL?

Baltimore and it's not even close.

Then Cincinnati.

Then Pittsburgh.

Then us.

Saying we have the 2nd best LB corps in the AFC North is ludicrous. The only starter who has any experience in the 3-4 is Kruger, and he's a one year wonder (time will tell if he becomes a consistently good player). We have a rookie and a 3rd year converted 4-3 DE battling for the other spot. The other three teams in the division have time-tested proven players at the position. (Woodley, Harrison, Suggs/Dumervil)

We have potential, but to say we have the 2nd best LB corps RIGHT NOW is crazy.

The biggest potential is Baltimore, damn you Denver and you're stupid fax machine. The only real hope is that Suggs doesn't rebound from the injury completely and Dumervil doesnt transition.

The upside is both guys will be over 30 at season's end

Balt

Not to mention they got Arthur Brown somehow as well.

^^^ Only Browns fans would be screwed over by a faulty fax machine.

1. BAL 2. PIT 3. CLE 4. CIN

i put us ahead of CIN because i think Harrison is on the decline and won't even be an every down player.

I think us and Pitt are toss ups.

Woodley is the better of both teams, but i'll take Kruger, Sheard and Mingo over Woodley and Jones.

Mingo and Jones could be washes due to rookie status, then it becomes Kruger and Sheard vs. Woodley.

Woodley is best, but that combo is better too me

Pittsburgh has Woodley and Timmons. Baltimore has Doom and Suggs.

I could see our guys passing them very soon.

You've been here 7 and still haven't picked a team.

I was thinking LBs in general. Not exactly a lot of strength like there used to be.

When comparing to Cincy, we should really be looking at their DE's, since they're in a 4-3. With that, I think we're still the worst, until proven otherwise.

I have high hopes for our group, though, and I'll be surprised if we're not considered one of the strongest in the division by the end of the season.

I know this thread is about our primary pass rushers (OLB's), but we also need to remember our DE's.

Des Bryant has given us great joy for his mug shot, but I am legitimately fired up to have this guy. I watched some more of his games since we signed him, and the dude never stops. He is truly disruptive, and I can't wait to see what Horton does with him.

I think our DE's may be better too...

As Regg Mentioned Dez Bryant being a monster and Athyba Rubin at 305lbs they will make some ferocious defenders....

Cincy has Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap/Wallace Gillberry

Baltimore has Ngata and McPhee

Steelers have Brett Kiesel and Ziggy Hood/Cameron Heyward

I think we still might have close to the top in DE's as well if you can compare 3-4 DE's to 4-3 DE's

In comparison to Balt I think Ngata is better than Rubin and Bryant, but the two of them are better than McPhee. I think Athyba can have a similar impact as Ngata at DE in this attack Defense.

Looking at Cincy Michael Johnson is probably the best of the group, but our two are better than anyone else they can field.

Pitt Dline is declining, I don't know how well brett kiesel can hold up, and how well their young DE's are coming along...

Let's expand this to front 7

That should be very tough.

I tried to rank them, it was damn near impossible.

Every team has holes in their front 7's

Our biggest hole is at ILB

I think I would take our front 3 against anybody though.
