Really surprised Trufant was cut. I thought as a veteran with some left in the tank would have had a place here.

He was struggling to hold onto the dime spot, I guess. Once Will Blackmon got here, that pushed him to the #5 corner and we preferred some other guys' potential over him.

I love that the team is able to go get guys on the cheap and not worry about anything but production (and hopefully the outside football behavior). The guy doesn't perform well, he's gone. No giving plays to guys just because they're "our guy".

Sucks to hear Trufant was cut. I figured Bradley would want him as that veteran presence in the secondary. How did he look this offseason?

I'd like to give Jimmy Clausen a look.

I'm still kinda interested in Danny Watkins who seems to have been released by the Eagles.

Busted pretty hard for a 1st rounder, but he's still a lot more raw than his age would suggest. Wouldn't hurt to try polishing him up a bit, would it?

he didnt seem all that raw as a prospect, seemed like his biggest issue going into the draft was his age and longevity in the league

Sounds like Lonnie is going on the PS if he clears.

I never understood the fascination with Pryor.
In pre saeson games, Ta'ufo'ou has shown to be a willing and succesful blocker and a pretty decent pair of hands when they split him out wide.

One of Pryor's strengths was his hands coming into camp. But with that "advantage" basically being negated when compared to Ta'ofu'ou, what else did he bring to the table?

A lot of the "fascination" with Pryor is his personality. He's highly interactive with fans on social media and a great guy. Those are the type of guys you hope become successful, because they're genuinely good guys. That's not to say that Ta'ufo'ou isn't a great guy, but when he doesn't show that outwardly, he doesn't get the same endearment from the fans.

And I wouldn't say that Ta'ufo'ou negated what Lonnie brings as a pass catcher. He had a couple gaffs in preseason as a pass catcher, including the tip that led to Gabbert's only pick.
