Bye Bye Hawk. Too inconsistent.

I hope he gets another chance somewhere. He can be a good player. Not great, but good.

I agree, nothing really wrong with his game, just nothing amazing about it either. Could be and should be a useful player somewhere.

So that means #87 will be available for some lucky receiver. I figured this would happen sooner or later. Man I was really pulling for Hawk to step up, but I guess 5 years was more than enough time to show something. I still like the kid, and I hope he can sign on with someone before too long and do something in this league.
Now correct me if I'm wrong here. But with the exception of Kendall Wright being the runt of the litter so to speak (5'10, 195 lbs), I kinda get the feeling that we're really trying to load our receiving corps with bigger WRs now. If you look at everybody else excluding Hawkins, they're averaging 6'2 at 203 lbs. Coincidence? I kinda doubt it.

Titans waived WR Michael Calvin and S Suaesi Tuimaunei.
Calvin and Tuimaunei were among the Titans' reserve/future signings earlier this offseason. They'll have trouble latching on elsewhere as camp bodies.

Love that we are getting rid of those who will not even compete.

Now #12 and #41 are open. Sorry guys, but I'm really hooked into the whole jersey numbers saga right now. Smile

I would rather Hunter stay at #15 over #12 lol He needs to just fight Rusty for #11 though.

Aw man. I really liked Hawk, he was fun to watch after the catch. I hope he goes on to have a more successful career.

I'm actually cool with Hunter sporting #15. I think it suits him better because of his size. It's made for bigger guys like Brandon Marshall or Tim Tebow. I see #11 being more for smaller, scatterbug type players like KW. IMO the ideal number for a guy like Hunter would be #84. Cool

I remember when this guy was supposed to be second coming of Derrick Mason. Boy, that never materialized.

Oh well, the Titans have more talented wide receivers. This guy never separated himself from subpar talent early on when the opportunities to do so were everywhere.

Yep and "he was the better reciever out of the Cal duo of DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins". I believe it was his former wide recievers coach who said that. I do recall Hawkins coming out of no where in a few games and made some clutch sideline catches, but he could never stay on the field. Loved to root for him, but he just wasn't good enough and was mostly inactive on Sundays.

Wasn't his issue with getting on the field his lack of blocking ability?

Maybe can go to New England or something and Tom Brady could make something out of him. He's got some good skills.
