Rules/Overview:

- Every team will draft 45 players and 3 coaches. The coaches are HC, OC, and DC. If you desire, you can have your HC be one of your coordinators and draft an extra player.
- Rounds 1-11: One player per pick
- Rounds 12-22: Two players per pick
- Rounds 23-27: Three players per pick
- You can draft your coaches at any time, as early/late as you want.
- All positions should be drafted (including special teams).
- Only current NFL players may be drafted (recent draftees included).
- Player contracts are not important unless a player decides to hold out in real life (which would be bad for your team).
- If a player is injured in real life, it's bad for your team.
- All NFL and NCAA coaches are available for draft. Retired/out of work coaches are not (i.e., Cowher, Gruden, etc.)
- If you can't be online for your pick, please pm me a big board.
- The objective is to build a Super Bowl winning team for this year.

BFMD = Browns Forum Mock Draft

What is it?
The NFL has disbanded all its teams. All players are thrown into a pool and are available to draft. New franchises are started, and you're one of the GM's. We draft our teams, building them however we want. This is not a fantasy football draft. We draft full teams, all positions.

How does it work?
The original draft order will be randomized. From there, we'll have a serpentine draft (2nd round will be reverse order of the 1st round, and keep the pattern throughout). Will we draft a full 53-man roster? Probably not. Last year, we drafted 45 players, but it ultimately depends on how many participants we have. In addition to players, we'll also be choosing 3 coaches (head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator).

How does it end?
That's up for discussion. 2 years ago, we appointed an outside panel of judges who power-ranked all the teams. This past year, the ball was dropped (mostly by me), and we didn't do any kind of judging/ending. I'd like to talk about it.

Why the thread?
I want to not only see who's interested in being part of drafting a team, but I'm also asking for help in running it. As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier (in terms of participants and people willing to help admin). One rule that we enforced the last couple years was that each team had to have at least 2 people. I'd like to keep this rule, as things have gone smoothly, and teams stayed engaged.

TL/DR:
Answer these 2 questions:
1. Do you want to take part in this year's BFMD?
2. Would you be willing to help run it?

Also, post any questions, if you have them.

It is on like Donkey Kong. I would love to participate, would be willing to help run it as well if needed.

1. Yes I will take part.
2. I am willing to help run it. It depends on what time decisions are made. I work nights, and my weekend is tues, weds.

My questions are:
1.) when does this start?
2.) how much time do we have to make decisions?
3.) after the draft, how much time is involved?
4.) does this end after the reg season?

I think this sounds cool, I'd just like to know the time constraints. Maybe I could be an assistant coach or something along those lines since this is all new to me.

To clarify

1. Yes

2. I could try and help run it, not sure what is involved with that though.

1. Probably in about a week or so.
2. Time slots for the draft are 1 hour.
3. Not much. We might do a "pimp your team" thread, but that's about it.
4. The whole draft takes about a month. We will evaluate the teams both preseason and postseason.

There aren't positions like FFMD. Everyone is a GM (well, co-GM, actually). Most are teams of 2 (some are teams of 3). The 2 or 3 of you come to a consensus for each of your picks.

I think most (if not all) of the past participants had a lot of fun, and I'd love to get even more people involved this year.

Count me in. Sounds like fun...are draft hours like from 8am to 8pm? I'm more wondering about that in terms of the draft. More curious about that. I'm just wondering if working nights puts a limit on how much I can contribute....well that and my limited mental capacity.

Yeah, usually about 8am to 8pm. We may stretch it to 10pm or 11pm, depending on how many teams we have.

I'm in. I doubt I'd be able to run it, but I think Marky and I will tandem up again.

Unfortunately with my work schedule, I don't think I'll be able to participate this year.

I am willing to help run it, or be part of the panel to judge the teams at the end.
