I don't understand the draft positions. Was there a trade down?

from 2 to 13 for 2014 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2015 1st, 2nd, 2016 1st and Josh Freeman...then moved that extra 3 and 4th to move up to 8.

As much as we could desperately use those extra high picks, 1st and 2nd rounders to fill some more of the many many holes on this team...

No thanks. QB isn't the place to say, 'ahhh, this other one will do'.

Unless you're working off the premise that we're picking 2nd and Teddy goes 1st overall to...somebody? In which case, that is a mock in which life is extremely unfair. Crying or Very sad

If we were in an awful situation like that, i'd be a lot more interested in trying to swing that sort of deal with the Rams if they get to the point where they might look at moving on. I could almost be sold on giving Bradford a try, with serious extra picks tossed in to sweeten the pot. At least, much more so than Freeman (especially as mentioned, as a FA).

But then...no, still no.

I want nice things, but more than anything, i just want a good QB.

IDK, i'd be open to moving a way late pick or something minimal for Freeman and just see what he can do. He looked very promising when his rookie year was over. Maybe he really does just need a change of scenery. It's obvious Blaine is not the answer and Henne isn't either. I know we likely get a QB via 1st overall pick, but still, why not at least just see what Freeman can do? Still very young obviously.

The Rams GM said earlier this week that he intends to extend Bradford.

And the Browns aren't shopping Gordon. Laughing

GMs say a lot of things. *shrug*

You're right and i doubt it really ends up being on the table, as i think they probably do intend to give Bradford more time and let their 'weapons' mature, depending on how things shake out through the rest of the year. But that's the only conceivable sort of scenario like that, (acquiring a young underperforming QB) that i could maybe think about getting on board with.

Freeman might be a bit of an upgrade in terms of ability vs. what we have now, but the baggage attached at this point, just not worth it. He might squeeze out a few wins, but to what end? Not going to be the long-term answer and he doesn't seem to have the cachet to be the real 'leader' this team needs. I think we've done enough languishing around in QB no-mans-land.

I like that your digging Neal, he didn't impress so much against UF but played really well against UGA this week.

Also Halapio is a Gator and a good one at that, nice value there I think.

Picking Mariota over Teddy, you won't get my vote.

Interesting player ranges, and I don't pick Mariota over Teddy unless we don't end up with the 1st pick. And Logan Thomas can't pass but would be a good project TE.

Nope. Only way i accept no Teddy, is if we aren't picking first and he's not there when we pick.

Not opposed to the idea and grabbing a WR to play outside at all. But i don't think Lee is the answer there. Just come away not very impressed with him far too often. Too many things that don't add up there. Especially with our #2 pick.

No thanks. I really don't have the time of day for guys with those sort of natural gifts who don't seem to care at all, or have any real commitment to their team or the game of football. As a late round flyer? sure. As a 3rd round pick...Pass.

Not a bad way to go from what i've seen and what i know. Possibly some versatility there which would be valuable as our line might end up being a bit of a puzzle to put together next year with (hopefully) a bunch of new and potentially inexperienced pieces. Not my favourite pick, but it definitely makes a lot of sense.

Honestly know nothing about this guy, but i'll be looking into it for sure. 6'1" CB a bit off the radar sounds like a potential Caldwell pick. Interesting.

Nope. If there's one position i don't want to see us spending a pick on this draft, it's MLB. I'll stick with Poz and his bloated salary for now, thanks. Laughing

Wouldn't mind this at all. Not my favourite RB at the moment, but there's potential there for sure and it's a good point to address a need.

i ain't even mad about a homer pick here. That'd be a decent one.

no comment really. don't know enough to say much...sounds intriguing though.

As mentioned above...maybe as a TE project. But i really want no part of Logan Thomas as a QB. If we're gonna double up at QB, i'd want our 2nd guy to be more of a 'brains' guy without the 'physical tools' to excel. Someone who can sit on the bench and learn, and actually add some insight there. Not a Logan Thomas who is all tools, no toolbox.
