Late to the news about Ebron declaring, but I really hope he is a target for round 2. If we get Teddy/Carr/Mariota/etc. (a QB essentially) in the 1st, I would love to see us get a nice weapon for him. With the questions surrounding Blackmon, we could use another weapon for him. Pick up interior OL help with all of our mid rd picks and hopefully we add a Michael Johnson/Orakpo in FA to help out at LEO. I dig Branch right now, but even with what he's doing we need another competent LEO, and 3 games isn't good enough to look past that position as a serious need if we want to have a good defense.

Pretty sure Ebron is going top-15.

Eh, maybe. I hope he lasts a bit longer than that, lot can change from now til May.

You did good kid.

Now explain with what witchcraft and sorcery you managed to obtain that haul of players...starting with Teddy at #4... Laughing

Love pretty much all of those picks.

Houston took Bortles for that draft. Rams went with an OT, and the Raiders traded up for Clowney. Used pretty much all of the picks obtained to move up for Mack, who dropped.

Traded my second round pick with Minnesota, because I thought they were going up for a QB and viewed that as a realistic move. Then made a trade with the Giants just because. Laughing

I wanted to get a second QB, but both guys I wanted were taken earlier than I expected. McCarron went in the second, and Morris went in the 6th.

Guys in the 5th-7th, I wasn't too familiar with, so I went with some guys who seemed to have some upside. Exum seems like he's physically the type of guy we want here. Gallon is another one of those specialty players, and that late, I think he would fit.

Love it. Now if only the real offseason could fall something like that. Very Happy

Particularly at the top of the draft, with the way that fell...that would be outstanding. And if the Texans and Raiders aren't as high on Bridgewater...i suppose it could play out something like that. Or at least, as a desperate Jaguars fan, i could be convinced that it's a possibility. Laughing

Really, that sort of draft would go a long ways to making this team competitive next year. Fix the QB problem, quality RB prospect to take over in the backfield, patch the biggest holes on the O-Line with quality guys, a bigger redzone target WR/redundancy plan for Blackmon being an idiot, AND a TE who could probably allow Marcedes to be more of a receiving threat.

AND getting Khalil Mack on top of it all addressing our biggest need on defense.

Twisted Evil

If that happened IRL I think just about every Jaguar' fan would go crazy.

Ideally with this, I'd drop some money on one of the Free Agents that could be a LEO. There's a few of them that could plug in there. Then I'd like to use Mack similarly to how the Seahawks are trying to use Bruce Irvin at LB. I feel like that could turn us into a 40 sack defense. Not elite, but borderline top 10 in sacks with how the scheme works.

Add a player in the secondary to start, maybe an o-lineman and the team could be looking at contending for the division title, or at least being in the mix. The division is weak and unless the Texans take a big step back to where they are, it's probably going to stay there, so it's not like it's impossible. I don't think we would win the division year one, but being in the mix would be nice.

Yeah, the odds of this happening are basically zero, but amid all the "oh no, we're doomed" and other discussion we're having lately, I thought this mock would kinda change the tone a little bit. Or at least give us something to strive for.

So we start Chad Henne next year or what? McCarron isn't going in the first two rounds so either way it's silly.

I will bet you an insanely large amount of money that AJ McCarron is not starting for an NFL team next year. So we let Chad go and take him, are we signing Jay Cutler?

Whatever you say dude. Did McCarron do something to you personally?

I consider myself to be very good at evaluating QB prospects, which is why I am paid to do so as a second job.

McCarron is not going that high, and I don't see him being taken by any team not planning to have him on the bench next year.
