Why doesnt anybody mention Sean Mannion? I like him.

Big 6-5 frame, strong arm, and has 29 TDs to 3 INTs this year. Under-rated.

Statue in the pocket, throws off his back foot, slow release, average arm, stares down his primary read.

He is accumulating these stats because he throws it 50+ times a game.

Production doesn't always equal talent. If anything, Mannion will get overrated.

Product of the system. Not a special talent.

Horrible quality, but this video shows him zipping the ball between two defenders. And on the first play he evades the pressure.

But i havent heard much about him, so that cant be good.

First of all, in that play he just steps up into the pocket. Basic rule, quarterbacking 101. Nothing exciting there. His foot speed is actually quite slow in doing so and he almost took a hit because he doesn't play light on his feet when moving up.

Secondly, zipping the ball between two defenders?? He locks onto his target, as usual, and heaves it up for grabs into double coverage. His WR on that play, Brandin Cooks, is actually pretty short and he's lucky as hell that it wasn't an interception.

Not a great video to pimp Mannion as a prospect in.

First of all, you make it seem like he can not move whatsoever. He has only been sacked 9 times this year out of 334 attempts. So he is doing something right in the pocket.

Secondly, what does it matter if he locks on to his target and heaves it? It was a TD. And he displays better than average arm strength in alot of his throws, even on other vids.

And im not PIMPING Mannion at all, i wouldnt touch him in the first two rounds. Im just saying i like some of the tools he has. And he has improved his cmp%, ypa, TD/INT ratio and QBR every year he has played.

Im not denying that he stares his WR down, he did all the way. My point is he put enough on the ball so that it didnt get picked. He has plenty arm strength IMO.

He's definately no Cutler, but his arm is good enough.

Ive been thinking that were going to miss out on a top QB, so im looking at guys in the later rounds to take.

I agree ED, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Top 10 QB doesn't equal success, necessarily.

Since 2000 the number of top 10 QB's that have won a Super Bowl is... one.

I agree with this as well, and definitely understand what turned you on to Mannion as potential prospect. I'm just not a fan.

Jeff Mathews isn't getting the 1st round hype I thought he might, so if he slips down boards, he's obviously the guy I would LOVE us to bring in as a developmental QB.

Kentucky's defensive line doesn't have a lot of slouches either. When all is said and done, I believe Richardson and Jackson both go in the first round.

Love me some La'el Collins, personally.
