I think if anyone can convince Tebow to change positions it's Bill. I honestly that's the only way he stays in the NFL and I don't know why he wouldn't. He'd be a productive player at TE or Fullback.

Can Tebow lead block. If he cant lead block, FB isnt a position for him to play. FBs arent used in the run game as rushers like they did 50 years ago.

As for TE, same situation as Webb. Does he have the natural receiving skills to make the switch? Even more so, Tebow will need to be able to block at TE as well.

A Half Back role would probably be best, but again, you have to be able to block and that is the big question with him.

In the end, I believe QB is his only position. In New England, he doesnt stand a chance. As the third QB, he wont even be active, barring injuries.

I remember him blocking for Harvin on occasion at Florida. I don't necessarily think he's at an NFL level with it though. He's really got nothing better to do other than hold a clipboard and beg BB for some playing time. He couldn't be worse as a fullback or TE than he is at QB.

The Pats are quite deep at TE, and surely there are better TEs out there then having Tebow take a spot in that capacity.

He has a nice gig though, being a third string QB and clipboard holder.

The issue with Tebow, as we saw with Webb, is that he takes up a roster spot and isnt a true fit at any position. As a 3rd QB he isnt bad player to have around, but around the league, the 3rd QB never is active (barring injury). Being employed is better then being unemployed, but I am not sure this is a move that will "resurrect" Tebows career.

I don't think so either. I was just offering alternatives that I think could keep him in the NFL. If I had to bet I would say that by this time next season he is out of the NFL completely.

His reputation could enable him to bounce around the league as a 3rd QB. The problem with being the third QB is that you are often disregarded and a lot of time is spent as scout team QB, running the oppositions plays, and being a film room specialist. the 3rd QB is almost a coach, rather then a QB who is asked to develop into a starter. For that, I just dont see the coaches spending much time with Tebow improving his game as a QB and his mechanics. In OTAs and training camp, sure, but once the season kicks into gear, his physical development at QB will be nonexistent.

Well, well, well. Thirty one teams in the league don't want Tim Tebow on their roster. There IS one team that just signed him however. They are the ones who have Tom Brady as their starting QB, and three Super Bowl trophies in their possession.

By comparison, the Vikings have Christian Ponder as their starting QB, and zero Super Bowl trophies.

When thinking about the Tebow signing in NE, I just keep asking myself one question: "What does Bill Belichick know that no one on our coaching staff has been able to figure out?"

While what you stated is true, its completely irrelevant. and besides, winning is a team statistic anyways. It seems here you are putting an incredible amount of weight into winning being a "QB stat" which its not.

What does Bill know? Maybe nothing. I remember people (maybe not here) saying the Patriots were geniuses for signing Chad Johnson and Albert Haynesworth two offseasons ago, and see what they did for that team? 2 highly touted Free Agents who ended up doing very little.

Tebow went to a good organization. He can sit and learn from Brady. But right now he's the 3rd string QB, and he very well could be looking at his last stint in the NFL.

I don't know, why don't you ask Albert Haynesworth and Chad Johnson what he knew?

Wins are not a team stat when Tebow is involved. However, when Tebow is involved, losses are a team stat.

I've never understood that.

He very well might be the one who gets the most praise and blame for how his team does than any other QB in the league.

Did Rose Kennedy own a black dress?

Answer: YES!!!! This would make tremendous sense for the Vikings, but unfortunately it will never happen. Spielman, Frazier, Ponder and company couldn't handle the pressure from fans that would inevitably start after about 6-7 weeks of watching Ponder this year. If they had any cojones, they would bring him in as an inexpensive insurance policy for when (not if, but when) Ponder falters. I know we have Matt Kassel, but he's no better than Ponder.

Everybody knows what I think about Tebow's potential. Unfortunately, it's starting to look like the NFL is going to miss out on this guy. It's a shame too because he could go down as one of the all time greats.

Why didn't Bellichick find Tebow's potential? Is he (Billy B) slipping?

What potential did Tebow demonstrate in his pre-season with the Pats?

I'm not sure why Ponder's failure is needed for Tebow to step in and replace him. IF Tebow has greater talent than Ponder, wouldn't it show in practice after he learns Musgraves' system?

Obviously, Bellichick couldn't bench Brady for Tebow, so releasing him might be interpreted as allowing Tebow to find a team where he can use his potential as a starter. So, if Ponder is also entrenched as the Vikings starting QB in 2013, where else might Tebow step in and replace a starting QB?

What is it that Tebow does better than Ponder that leads you to believe he could replace Ponder by week 7?

Why didn't Bellichick find Tebow's potential? Is he (Billy B) slipping?

He has another guy on the roster by the name of Tom Brady who isn't too bad in his own right.

What potential did Tebow demonstrate in his pre-season with the Pats?

Can anyone really expect him to do much in that short of a time with the team? He hardly knew the offense.

I'm not sure why Ponder's failure is needed for Tebow to step in and replace him. IF Tebow has greater talent than Ponder, wouldn't it show in practice after he learns Musgraves' system?

Tebow is a project, I admit that. The thing is, his upside is enormous. If we could work with him and install an offense built around his abilities, he could become very good after a couple years. It would take time though.

Hard to say. The problem is that most coaches are unwilling to take the chance on a player like Tebow because they have such a short time to win in the NFL these days. I bet Bud Grant could have done great things with Tebow. Look what he did with Joe Kapp.

What is it that Tebow does better than Ponder that leads you to believe he could replace Ponder by week 7?

I didn't say that he would be able to come in and play well by week 7. I said that we will all know by then that we need a different QB. Tebow could be the QB of the future for us. We would need to invest some time in him, just like we did with Ponder, or like we will have to do with any other young QB.
