The Jets paid $1 million to trade Darrelle Revis. They’ve now paid $1.53 million to cut Tim Tebow. As expected, no one made a waivers claim for the remnants of quarterback Tim Tebow’s rookie contract.

This lack of a waivers claim means that the Jets remain on the hook to pay back to the Broncos $1.53 million in salary that was advanced to Tebow in 2011. So one of the worst personnel moves in recent history gets even worse for the Jets. Woody Johnson will be contributing $1.53 million to Pat Bowlen’s bank account.

Still a net gain based on what his cap hit was for the 2013 season.

The NYets are actually reimbursing the Broncos owner for money already paid, so Bowlen is, financially speaking, back to 'even' now.

And IMO the jets never tried to develop him.

They never tried to develop him because all he was to NY was publicity. They didnt give a crap if he started or not because they never wanted him to.

Sanchez was told from the get-go that he was never going to have competition at the QB spot. He only sucked it up because he just plain sucks. He never felt the pressure of Tebow cuz it wasnt there.

They had to keep him on the field a bit so it wasnt so obvious. He is a gimmick at this point in his career. I dont think he will ever amount to much if he is even given another chance in the NFL.

Teams just dont want to change their whole offense to fit around Tebow..Too easy to prepare against someone that can only throw a deep ball and tuck and run.

After seeing Webb throw the ball straight up in the air I believe three times to avoid a sack in the playoff game.. Tebow no doubt.

That game still bothers me, it would have been an actual contest with Ponder.

Vikings G.M. Rick Spielman addressed the Tebow topic during a visit to PFT Live.

“Other teams are saying they’re not interested,” I explained to Spielman. “This is your chance to say you’ve got no interest in Tim Tebow.”

“He is a great individual,” Spielman said. “I spent some time with him when we came out in the draft but we’re very satisfied where we’re at with our roster right now.”

I said Tebow a couple days ago, But with some senisble thinking its Joe Webb. Joe Webb at least has an NFL arm, and is a gamebreaker at times. But he's not an NFL QB either but still better then Timmy.

I was wondering if this news would affect Webb's market. But then again, even if Tebow may be a better QB, he won't bring the circus along with him.

I'm really surprised Seattle already said no. Just thinking about it, he could be a valuable third stringer for them: familiarity with both Harvin and the read option, plus he seems to fit the team atmosphere Carroll wants.

Still don't think he's an NFL qb, but just surprising to me. No team probably wants the sideshow/distraction.
