One other thing. I think Fragel replaces Roland as the jumbo extra T. Wouldn't it be nice to have a T that can catch the ball in that formation??

I'd be all for replacing Roland.

I am too. I have to find the numbers, but shockingly he isnt as bad statistically as I thought. I still can't stand him though

Agree.

If, with the addition of Eifert; we're going with more 2 x TE sets, then we really need to keep 4 TE's.

Just looking down the roster, there are going to be some very good football players released come cutdown day.

you have to look at some of our UDFAs too, Marvin usually likes 1 or 2 of them...

Hawkinson IMO goes to the practice squad and I think Fragel makes it over Roland.

I dont think Hamilton makes the team, goes to practice squad.

I really hope we can trade a player or two we cant keep for some picks.

Just seeing we've signed Auburn burner Onterio McCalebb as a UDFA. This giuy is an absolute crackerjack, and could be the answer as a specialist KR/PR. We might need to make room for him.

If McCalebb makes it he replaces Tate. But that gives us 5 backs and only 5 receivers if you keep the rest the same

Agree 'ocho'. Just watched some more McCalebb highlights; in my mind he's replaced Tate already.

With more TE sets, I've no problem with going 5 x WR/ 5 x RB/ 4 x TE.

McCalebb also looks pretty good catching the ball in the flat and letting him run with it. He might be interesting as a slot WR too. With Sanu and McCalebb, maybe we look to trade Hawkins and grab an extra pick next year.

I can't decide if I agree. I don't mind McCalebb and love getting rid of Tate. Having the 3 TEs we do are good receivers so I can live with 5 WRs, but I want Pressley around and to cut Smith. I'm not sure McCalleb can run routes enough to play slot

I'll be shocked if McCaleb makes the team. He was an UDFA for a reason. 2 making last year was the exception, not the rule, and one of those was thought of as a first round pick at one time. The other was at a position where injury and depth were issues. RB and WR depth isn't an issue.

I agree, in theory, but............... tate either needs to be replaced or he needs to drastically improve his decision making. If we had taken McCalebb in the draft, I don't think anyone would blink at the notion he replaces tate on the 53. That said, Green, Sanu, Jones, Hawkins and McCaleb would work in my mind (Whalen and tate cut), and go the extra TE if needed, and doing it without cutting Pressley.

Who knows if McCaleb makes the team. We were interested in Ted Ginn, so the front office must think we could use an upgrade. Tate's sole purpose on the team is kickoff returns. He's reached his pitiful ceiling as a receiver. If McCaleb proves to be better at returns, i'd rather ad him. At least he might have some untapped potential.

I'm guessing we see Bernard on returns.

I don't know if we will send him out there. They don't like using main players as returners, hence why Adam Jones doesn't do it all the time
