This draft looks great on the paper! Filled all our needs, got a lot of potential and this UDFA class could become another great one. Thomas, Riddick and Griffin have a serious shot at making the final roster!

Would have liked Thomas in the 3rd or 4th to be honest and now we get him as an UDFA??? GREAT!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

So glad we picked up Thomas, fills another huge need with a player who should have gone in round 4-5

Undrafted Free Agent Signings

Ryan Griffin, QB Tulane
Kevin Riddick, LB North Carolina
Elliot Mealer, OL Michigan
Ryan Lacy, CB Utah
Chase Thomas, LB Stanford
Keavon Milton, TE Louisiana-Monroe
Eric Martin, DE Nebraska
Ray Shipman, LB Central Florida
Roderick Sweeting, CB Georgia Tech
Shawne Alston, RB West Virginia
Tim Lelito, G Grand Valley State
Josh Hill, TE Idaho State

It's what I like to see. A lot of competition. We could possibly see a lot of veterans get cut or traded.

Why did Chase Thomas go undrafted? Confused I thought most people had him as a 3rd-4th rounder?

Either way, he could be a steal as a UDFA.

I agree, such good value, as well as Riddick.

Chase Thomas may not have had a great combine and proday, he's not an athlete but neither did or is Jarvis Jones. Still Jones goes 17th overall with major medical issues while Thomas goes undrafted???

I'm not saying Thomas is a better prospect than Jones, or even on Jones level as a pass rusher but Thomas put up production that would stack up against Jones during his time at Stanford and my opinion is that Thomas is a better player against the run. Another thing Thomas is better at than Jones is getting the most out of his god given ability and is a lunch pale high effort entergy player who gives it his all every day with his elite work ethic.

I'm not saying Thomas is better than Jones but Jones at 17 overall and Thomas undrafted... Thomas is absolutely the better value!!!

Scouts Inc's top 10 undrafted free agents...

#1. Kevin Reddick
#3. Chase Thomas

Mickey likely landed two solid players in the rotation and maybe even eventual starters down the line!

As an NFL prospect I think that a melanin deficiency might be worse than Melanoma.

I was hoping that Chase Thomas would be available for the Saints to draft in the 3rd round. Round after round he slipped...I couldn't believe it. There should be lots of scouts fired for this guy going undrafted. He is everything you want from in a 3-4 SOLB. He can cover...anchor against the run...and has a very underrated pass rusher. He had one of the highest sack/pass rush attempts in the country last year. Stanford primarily used him in contain and in TE coverage...but when he did rush the passer he was extremely productive.

I had him as my #4 SOLB, behind J. Jones, Jordan, and Collins. I think that he will make a better SOLB than Martez Wilson and should put up good competition for Victor Butler. I was disappointed that the Saints drafted Vaccaro instead of Jarvis Jones...but after the Saints were able to land Thomas...I feel much better about the Vaccaro pick (assuming he is used correctly).

One of the best parts of the draft is the 8th round. Thomas and Riddick were both guys I wanted us to draft as high as round 5. I like Griffin too, but I think it's the right spot. I wouldn't have drafted him.

I mocked Eric Martin to the Saints in the sixth, #183. He was Nebraska's best pass rusher and is not 250 lbs. but is 237. I think he has as good a chance as Thomas to make the team if he can excel on special teams. Actually, I hope they both make it. I am not certain about Rufus, but would love to be surprised. The level of competition can be important.

He's a one speed guy, they don't tend to do well as starters.

Also, Harper41, you da man.

Anybody got the after camp signatures?
