Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

http://snygiants.com/2013-nfl-draft/vts-special-teams-ace-alonzo-tweedy-to-visit-giants/

From that link:

Quote:
Of Tweedys 21 tackles this year, 16 have been on special teams. Eight of those are on punt coverage. The rest of the team has 11.

(If) I put it right, its getting stopped; theres no question in my mind, punter A.J. Hughes said. I could give him three seconds hang time, hes already down there. Hes a freak. Hes insane.

I just run, said Tweedy, who said hes been timed at 4.39 seconds in the 40. I think of it as a race. As soon as I see them hike the ball, Im gone. I make one move and Im out.

Seems like a special teams ace. Very good proday #s:

Ralph Vacchiano ‏@RVacchianoNYDN 1m
Ohio State LB Etienne Sabino ... UDFA ... RT @bino6 GMEN!!! #TIMEtoWORK

scouting report:

Quote:
Strengths: Athletic frame and flies all over the field with excellent range and the chase skills to catch the ballcarrier from behind. Athletic blitzer and is at his best downhill, working hard to shed blocks with adequate strength and length. Type of player who lacks the instincts and consistency to start at the next level, but could be a late-round pick and core special teams player.
Weaknesses: doesn't break down information quick enough and is routinely forced to play a step behind, lacking a great feel in coverage. He won't miss many tackles, but needs to improve his angles and is too often caught off balance, lacking the lateral burst to quickly change directions.

I like this pickup. Looks like he is a good tackler and gets to the ball.

No clue who he is, but his pro day #s indicate blocking TE.

Wait he is a LB and DE and weighs 235, some WRs weigh that. He will run over if he doesnt bulk up to at least 255.

WR Marcus Davis from Virginia Tech.

6'3" 233, 4.47 forty, 19 reps, 39 inch vertical. Rated as a 6th round pick by NFLdraftscout.com. Probably our highest ranked UDFA.

A good move on his part considering that we have a roster spot open at WR. Of course, it'll come down to how well he plays special teams.

http://www.giants101.com/2013/04/27/2013-nfl-draft-new-york-giants-undrafted-free-agent-list/

Quote:
Ohio State linebacker Etienne Sabino, as per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
LSU tight end Chase Clement, as per Jenny Vrentas of the Newark-Star Ledger.
Virginia Tech linebacker/safety Alonzo Tweedy, as per Vrentas.
Charleston Southern cornerback Charles James, as per Vrentas.
Mount Union linebacker Charles Dieuseul, as per Vacchiano.
Vacchiano said that the Giants already had 77 players on the roster, plus their seven draft picks, which left them room to sign six undrafted free agents. With this list, they have signed five, which leaves them room to sign one more player with the 90-player limit.

Awesome. I really like this pick up. Def favourite Udfa so far. If this guy can click it all together he could be very dangerous.
