He's got extremely short arms, and he projects as a guard in the pros.

He dabbled in basketball, and apparently he picked up 8 fouls in 16 minutes. You've gotta like an offensive lineman with, umm...aggression.

About the same length as Joe Thomas's Arms.

I'm simply stating that he was announced by the Browns as a guard, he fits a guard's size, and they need a guard who excels in run blocking over pass blocking.

It doesn't matter, if he's played tackle then it is obvious they like him for his versatility. Even if he doesn't start, maybe he'll stick around a bit.

If we replace Shaun Lauvao, I think we might have to do it with a 1-year stop-gap.

It is important to have slide guys in the NFL as you never want to dress too many OL on Sundays. So, the versatility is important. He is an Olineman, we needed one. . . or more. I'll take it.

Jumped the gun on the first attempt at posting this, my bad.

Anyway, what's wrong with Miller? The dude didn't even play last season that I recall.

He was a development player to begin with.

He played three snaps last season filling in for a temporarily hurt Lavou. Missed assignment on two plays and then got blown up on his final snap. I think he even gave up a sack.

back up RT or OG I wonder?

My guess is backup 'swing' tackle and potential replacement for JT years down the road... or for Schwartz (if Schwartz moves to LT someday).

I don't really think we've ever had much depth at tackle.
That was my first reaction and something I thought we had to do in this draft. If god forbid JT or Schwartz went down to injury, we have virtually no one we can have any confidence in as a replacement. I think the FO is just hoping this guy can be quality back up in a worst case situation.

Yes, 3 very bad NFL snaps. I'd be willing to bet this guy eats up his roster spot.

Nice gif here. It's so nice that I won't even say I told you so when the final roster gets set.

Yeah, but why do people keep referring to him as a guard? Did I miss somehing? He was a starting LT in college...he's 6'6, looks like a tackle too.

I actually think you're on to something reg. Miller was a project to even be a backup...and he was pick by nobody associated with the current team.

I dunno, but I wouldn't want to finish someones else's project when I don't even know why they started it in the first place.
