7th Round Selection

Rab has got the draft day discussion thread up and going, we will use these threads for individual Patriot draft pick discussion. I'll put the thread up at the beginning of each new round that we currently have a draft pick in.

In the event that it's traded, we'll just edit this to discuss the result of that trade. DRAFT DAY!/WEEKEND!!!

226th Overall

Name: Michael Buchanan
Position: OLB/DE
College: Illinois

NFL draft profile: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/michael-buchanan?id=2539239

Its a good 7th round pick, good value but still players I'd rather have left

For a 7th, it's a good pick. He was rated as a 3rd Rounder in my Draft Magazines.

He was in a fight last June and broke his jaw which was wired shut. He then lost twenty pounds if weight and his production plummeted.

I just scouted this guy last week. Thought he would be a good late round flyer for us. He reminded of a guy by the name Jones. Though not as polished and gifted. He could still develop, but he seems to have the length and ability.

MEI of 65.27, exactly the same as Bjoern Werner, for those that inquired earlier. Held back by a poor broad jump and middling vertical and short shuttle scores.

Wonder those numbers would have been improved without the weight loss. He looked less powerful in the lower body on tape in 2012 than in 2011
