How do guys drop that far? I guess he interviewed terribly or something. Does he have character concerns?

"Character Concerns" despite being touted by coaches as a high character kid, he was arrested a year ago for trespassing at a club he was banned from. lol He was banned originally from the club for trying to get into the club when he was underaged, when he was like 19 or 20 Laughing But yeah he tried to go back and then werent having and got him for trespassing. I think hes a 2nd round talent that if not arrested would of gone in the 3rd-4th round , as he didnt run a great 40 and isnt know as the fastest guy around .

Poyer is such a steal, he could be in terms of value one of the biggest steals of this draft. AP All American, this kid has the tools to be one of the best corner backs out of this draft class, really smart player who plays tough and gritty all the time.

On instincts and ball skills alone, I had Poyer as a first round talent that could fall to the 2nd round. Great pick.. enjoy.

Tommy Lawlor commented on Poyer

Quote:
Poyer is a player I have been high on since watching him at the Senior Bowl. He has great instincts and ball skills. His value took a tumble because of a terrible Combine. He has solid size at 6-0, 191, but only ran a 4.54. He did 8 reps, which is poor, even for a CB. The real red flag is a VJ of just 30.5 inches. That is one of the lowest figures for a CB in a decade.

Quote:
The lack of upper and lower body strength shows a lack of commitment to the weight room. Some CBs can get away with that. Poyer did in college, but won’t in the NFL. You can bet Chip and the sports science guys will be feeding him mega-smoothies and working him out left and right.

Sounds like he has all the skills, but need to beef up for the intensity of the pro game.

His arrest for trespassing is silly. Did teams really factor that into the equation when you look at the whole story? Shocked he went 7th. Nice CB depth behind Boykin for the inside.

I know someone who was directly in charge of watching over him and other OS football players. She says she wouldn't care if he fell off the face of the Earth. Laughing

I never said that I'm better. I just don't agree with their desicions. Sue me.

But the fact that we could have taken either Brandon or Jesse Williams with this pick instead just annoys me.

Absolutely love this pick. I was calling for him in like the 5th round, worked out much better this way. Adds much needed CB depth.

doubtful

his tumble was based around his awful combine performance most likely
