I think he can fill the role Reiff played last year. I would rather have got a Te that would be better in the pass game but it's a decent 7th rounder.

He actually has very good hands and can high point the ball really well. He's just really.....really slow.

EDIT:

Basically from what I can gather he's more of a T that can catch really well.

As excited as I could be with what was left on the board. That would be twice in one draft they took the guy at the top of my board(excluding 1rd) Cool

Good point. He might not be quick enough to get those blocks at the 2nd level but he can at least get the ball carrier to that point. I don't care so much that he is not very athletic so long as he can make those easy catches 5-6 yards out. Drops on those plays are demoralizing.

They wanted Kyle Juszczyk, but had to settle for Williams.

We need a real FB or better receiving TE, but that's a lot to ask for this late.

They had him for a visit so obvious interest. Sounds like he'll fill the Riley Reiff role from last year.

Not a lot to like about his athleticism, but his size and strength are exactly what most teams look for in a #2 TE. He's not going to be too active in the offense, but he's built exactly like Will Heller and can probably play his role about as well. Also nice to see he played H-Back at times at Alabama, which is something we also did with Heller.

He's strong and physical. I like adding to the front. Not sure if he'll ever be truely effective as a passer unless he's got softer hands than I remember or give him credit for.

Still like the pick for a 7th rounder. I think he's going to contribute as a blocker in both the offense and possibly special teams.
