Am I the only one that thought Brad Wing was the only P worth drafting? Now 3 off the board, none named Wing?

Either the Lions really botched this pick or I am just completely out of touch with Ps. For the time being, I don't like it. But I am open to changing my mind.

No because wing has been in trouble, also speculation to why he left early was because he was going to be in some more. Don't need a head case at punter.

Meh....he's a punter. As long as he doesn't get suspended I am not real worried.

ESPN has him listed as a kicker. Will we have him do both?

I think ESPN just has him listed incorrectly. He's a punter.

Actually as i said earlier he does both. He's a kick specialist. KO, FG and punting

He has over 50% touchbacks on kickoffs so he obviously can kick too. I would expect him to be our kickoff guy if he has that kind of leg.

Great pick. Taylor is my least favorite pick as of now.

I wasn't expecting this after the Ackers/kickalicious signings. Competition never hurt anyone though. As long as Nick Harris is gone, I can get behind anyone. Laughing

When I think of "kicker" I think of place kicker, not kickoff. Which, yes, he will likely handle kickoff duties if he wins the punter job.

Special teams was such a glaring hole on our team last year, namely kickoff and punter returns. I felt we were handy capped because Hanson couldn't kick it the distance. We knew our guys couldn't cover good, why not just kick it through and take that aspect out, starter'em from the 20 and make them earn 80yds for a TD.

I think by adding this kid our special teams coverage will be better based off kick-offs alone. Don't like seeing that high of a pick being spent on a punter but he's going to upgrade our team, imo so I can't ruffle my feathers too much even though I really want to.

I love the pick.

I value special teams very highly. I don't like the idea of a revolving door of FA punters/kickers. If you need one, just draft one, and I'm glad the Lions did that.

They brought him in before the draft and worked him out and they obviously liked what they saw. I'm very excited about him.

Never a fan of drafting a P. That is until he turns out to be really good and then I know I'll be happy we got him.

The first sentence would have been sufficient. This is why new people tend not to stick around long.
