This is not good for Carimi.

Or Eben Britton.

That's 11 guys. How many do they keep and of that group who all can play at C?

I'll bet they keep 9.

Confidence to already make himself a starter lol...

Via Biggs...

Can't wait to see Mills and Webb battle for RT in camp. Could we also move him to RG?

Mills and Long fit the mold of what we thought we were looking for they are big, athletic OT types that we can put at OG and allow them to short set and pass block.

Slauson 6'5", allowed 0 sacks in 14 games.

Long 6'6", with a ton of athletic ability.

Mills, 6'5" 34.5" arms and a ton of experiences at OT.

I think guard is his longterm spot...I also think RT is Long's longterm spot...in truth it wouldn't shock me if Mills is a backup RT this year with Long starting at LG then next year Mills steps into start at LG and Long kicks out to RT.

Phil Emery may have disappointed some of you at first, but you can't deny the value of what he's gotten today.

My guess on the 2013 OL

Starters

LT: Bushrod
LG: Long
C: Garza
RG: Slauson
RT: Webb

Game Day Active

E. Williams, we need someone who can play C also has starting experience.

J. Scott, veteran OT with a ton of experience.

Game Day Inactive [Developmental]

J. Brown, big versatile and showed something while starting.

J. Mills, big and versatile and potential starting RT/RG down the road.

Let's see who is on the roster for lineman

Jermone Bushrod (LT)
Matt Slauson (OG)
Robert Garza (C/OG)
Gabe Carmi (OG/OT)
Kyle Webb (OT)
Jonathon Scott (OG/OT)
Eben Britton (OG/OT)
Kyle Long (OG/OT)
Jordan Mills (RT)
E. Williams (C)
J. Brown (OG)

There are 11 guys for 8 roster spots.

I believe Scott, Britton, and Carimi get cut.......

New Offensive line for 2013

Bushrod
Slauson/Brown
Garza/ E. Williams
Long/Brown
Webb/Mills

What happens if Garza gets hurt?

Slauson played C in 1 preseason game and was not very good.

Agreed. E.Williams might not be great at anything but he is the only backup C we have, so I expect him to stick. Carimi, Britton & Scott on the other hand... are gone. I see

Bushrod
Long/Brown
Garza/Williams
Slauson
Webb/Mills

Also, we will probably get first crack at the best UDFA center, the guy would have to know he'd have a very real shot of making the roster.

As an Iowa fan I'd love to sign James as a priority UDFA. He's a real smart kid, and about as sound technique wise as it gets. Obviously undersized but he's a kid you want on your football team.

I like the pick. Good value. Log jam on the OL now. Good problem to have I guess.
