Tharold Simon, CB LSU

Scout Profile

Quote:
STRENGTHS Has great height. Extremely long arms and frame. Tracks and locates the football well. the football well. Makes plays (22 pass breakups and seven interceptions) in three seasons. Fluid hips, can turn and run with receivers. Will use his hands throughout the route.
WEAKNESSES Doesn't use his hands well at the line of scrimmage, poor pressing technique. Not always smooth in coming out of backpedal, takes elongated strides. Doesn't have tremendous feet, lacks quickness and the proper base.
NFL COMPARISON Cary Williams

This is such a Seahawks pick. This is one of those guys that you could pretty much pencil in to the Seattle roster prior to the draft.

What did he do?

“Tharold was out celebrating the draft with some of his friends, and things got out of hand,” Dies said.

When the officer learned the vehicle was Simon’s, he approached Simon and asked him to move the vehicle. Simon did not cooperate initially and began talking disrespectfully to the officer.

“I own Eunice,” Simon told the officer, according to Eunice Police. “You are going to be mine.”

Simon also allegedly told the officer that Mayor Moody was on his side and that the officer would be fired for ticketing him. Simon eventually did obey the officer and moved his car, but he drove it in an angry and aggressive matter, turned the music up very loud and and screeched his tires, Dies said. The officer proceeded to call another officer to transport Simon to jail.

I don't judge people with egos, as long as you play as well as you talk, I have no problem with you.

I’m really happy we drafted this guy. We just became even more epic as a team. Laughing

Pete Caroll wouldn't of drafted him if he didn't think he can handle him and if he becomes a problem Caroll can just cut him.

On the presser on KJR right now he thought the whole police incident was overblown he sounds apologetic about it and ready to play football he also said that he was embarrassed by it.

Love it. Not willing to do what someone tells them to just because they have a badge. Question authority, don't take crap from aggresive cops.

Doubt Sherm or BB would allow the police to intimidate them into obedience either.

Sure, play that card. It was all the police officers fault. No chance it could the fault of the guy that LSU suspended for weed. Or maybe that was LSU's fault.

What bothers me is not any of the things you are assuming that may or may not be true, its what he said. Rubs me the wrong way. "I own Eunice, you are going to be mine."

Who cares he was a kid partying with a few friends because he was gunna be drafted soon. He was probably drunk when the encounter happened so I dont see it as a big deal.

Not a big deal.

Really like this pick. I think he has a future opposite of Sherman.
