Glad we made this pick, if Wolff is any good, he basically bumps Allen and Coleman out of the starting lineup.

Is he a free or strong safety?

Could probably play both, but ideally SS.

Probably the best tackling Safety in this class.

Probably not

yeah let's not get overboard.

Elam and Swearinger were the best tacklin safeties in the draft. but Wolf had 300 tackles in college and looks on tape(youtube) mean-intense as hell in the run support so thats got to account for somethin.

Tackle stats rarely mean anything - Elam, Williams, and Vaccaro are all superior to Wolff when it comes to tackling.

Elam? Really? You know we're talking about the fundamental way of tackling, not the way Elam does it where he runs at you as hard as he can with his shoulder down, right?

Elam is a poor tackler, IMO. Doesn't wrap up. Just goes for the big hit.

Wolff can play. I'm telling you guys...he's gonna be good.

That Clemson game was rough... UNC was pretty inconsistent as well. I hope they can make a smoothie to help Wolff take better angles.

There was a safety or two that I preferred when we took Wolff off the board. However, I'm pretty happy with the pick; safety was a need and I've heard nothing but good things about Wolff.

Elam, a good tackler Laughing Laughing

Dude is a wannabe hard hitter at best.

I think Wolff can have some success early in his career against the run. Right now, he is a total lability against the pass. I would expect that portion of his game to improve over the next 2-3 seasons with good coaching and game reps.
I can't see him cracking the starting line up line up this year unless he improves dramatically.

All are safeties are oft injured and then their is Coleman, who sucks. It's not out the realm that he can start.

Wolff and Chung will be competing for the starting SS job. Not sure what's gonna happen with Coleman and Colt. I know we resigned Colt...but right now we have six safeties on the roster and normally you only keep 4.

Kenny Phillips
Nate Allen
Pat Chung
Earl Wolff
Colt Anderson
Kurt Coleman

Please cut Coleman and then we can roll with 5. We need Colt on ST.

Fair point. I should have said if he starts teams will exploit him in the passing game.
