Detroit double dips and grabs another DE here.

18.5 sacks in 4 years. Top year had 7.5. Followed that up with 6 sacks the next year but then went downhill his senior year with only 3 total sacks.

Strengths: Tall and long with freakishly long wingspan (87"). Long-striding athlete. Very good straight-line speed for his size with good chase skills. Experience standing up and dropping in coverage as well as in a 3-point stance at defensive end.

Nice job holding the edge against the run and keeps his eyes elevated. Usually plays smart with good recognition skills, displaying very good discipline. Doesn't quit and will make plays downfield or away from the line of scrimmage. Get his hands up to deflect passes (18 career passes defended including a pair of interceptions). Good experience as a four-year SEC starter.

Weaknesses: Not a quick-twitch athlete and little snap explosion, especially with his hand on the ground. Tight hips, ankles and lacks natural fluidity to burst to the play, struggling to smoothly redirect. Lean-muscled and will get pushed around, lacking natural power on his frame.

Lacks a feisty temperament and would like to see more of a sense of urgency from him. Good length but needs to generate more power from his upper body. Lacks ideal bulk and might be tapped out in terms of growth potential. Too lethargic at times and doesn't always finish. Declining production the past few years is a red flag.

Taylor picked up 45 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, six passes batted and three sacks in 2012. The redshirt senior is frustrating because he clearly has the skill set to produce more. Taylor can cause disruption, but struggles to finish plays. He would probably be best adding weight and playing 3-4 defensive end in the NFL.

Taylor was excellent at the East-West Shrine and showed his potential. He followed that up with a good day at the Combine. There is the capacity for Taylor to go sooner than expected.

Looks like someone finally realized you win and lose in the trenches.

I like this pick. Keep those linemen coming.

I have a feeling he was the pick even if Lattimore was on the board still.

A great athlete with room to add another 20+ pounds without losing any speed. You can't go wrong with a prospect with Taylor's upside this late in the draft.

It's refreshing to see the focus on the trenches in this draft. The Lions got bigger, stronger, and faster over the last three days.

I actually really love this pick. Taylor is big and smart. He needs some work, but He has all the tools to be a damn fine end playing next to two nasty d tackles.

This is my least favorite pick so far. And I don't even think it's that bad. At least this kid has size. He was a terror when I watched him at the East West Shrine Game.

I think I would have preffered Cornelious Washington, or getting Quantarious Smith before Denver did. However this is a solid pick and he has potential. I still hope we bring in Freeney and move Jones to a rotational DT.

When Schwartz and Mayhew came in they said wanted to get bigger. They got side tracked because of Avril and bringing in KVB. I think this is what they wanted all along.

I think our D Line is going to be pretty good at stopping the run and our LBs should be able to fill and drop into coverage better.

Really excited for preseason and the regular season!

Like the pick here this late. He's got the triangle numbers to be a 1st rdp. Just lacked the sack production really. I think he'll be solid reserve able to take advantage of miss matches at times on the outside. He's long and explosive which in the wide nine, really will help his cause to get at the QB.

He should be able to fill LoJacks spot nicely right out of the gate.
