Stash him away on the IR or PUP. No need to rush him.

Even if he doesn't pan out and never recovers completely, I still love this pick. He is such a hard worker and deserves this shot. Not to mention that the risk/reward ratio is way in our favor on this one.Maybe waste a 4th rd. comp pick, maybe get he best back in the draft.

Love the pick. He will prob sit the whole year on the IR an thats ok. Hes one of the most talented RB's to come out in years. Hes a good kid and hard worker. He is very determined an wants to get back to 100 percent.

Fully healthy Lattimore is a better prospect than Trent Richardson imo... but I'm not sure he'll ever be that again.

Absolutely love this pick. Perfect. I didn't think Corey Lemonier would be defeated for my favorite player of the draft, but I think that has now happened. I love my RBs.

after what Frank has come back from combined with how much better the rehab has gotten even since Gore was at Miami... i have a really good fellong about this kid... LMJ, Lattimore, and Hunter can be one hell of a backfield

Also - this should be a reminder for people to not say things like "No chance Marcus Lattimore lasts until the 4th. Someone will take a value pick on him in the 3rd and it won't be us."

No idea where to put this, so I'll just post it here:

After some interesting tweets yesterday we went away & ran some numbers. Which running back faced highest % of 8 men in the box?

Quote:
Pro Football Focus ‏@PFF 4h
We have a winner. 42.3% of plays w/ at least 8 men in box. League average is 23.3% @MarkusEricsson: @PFF Gore?

Quote:
Khaled Elsayed ‏@PFF_Khaled 2h
For those asking Frank Gore faced 8 men in the box 37.8% of time with Smith starter, 46.6% of time with Kaepernick starting

Quote:
Pro Football Focus ‏@PFF 2h
Big reason Gore faced so many 8 in the boxes? 53.5% of rushing snaps with 1 or fewer receiver split out wide. Most in league

Not that big of a surprise as Gore's numbers started to take a dip once Smith was replaced by Kaepernick.

I don't think defenses will be able to get away with that this year. I can see Kaep checking off to a lot of passes if he sees defenses stacked like that. I forsee him getting very Alex like in all the changes he makes at the line.

Yeah, Kaepernick will improve his pre-snap reads, but some of it has to do with the formations we were using. I know we had a lot of 1 WR sets with Smith, but seemed like it was a little more with Kaepernick. Not only that, but he's a threat to take off himself, so teams were forcing him to beat them with the pass. To his credit, he did just that in the postseason.

I loved almost every pick we made this draft. It was easily my favorite 9er draft of all time. Carradine was my favorite pick, but Marcus was a close second. Lattimore's a special talent and I was pulling for us to draft him all along. I'm stoked for the future of this team.
