5'11 221lbs

STRENGTHS Taller north-south runner who plays with good lean to plow for yards between the tackles. Possesses vision and quick feet for his size to slide into a rushing lane and the speed to get upfield once finding the hole. Quite effective on zone runs when used in that capacity. Has the wiggle to freeze and elude tacklers to space. Spins off piles inside and keeps his legs churning to pick up the extra yard. Gets into his routes fluidly out of the backfield and flashes the hand to adjust to poor throws. Good build for pass protection, and is willing to hustle and make contact to keep his quarterback clean.

WEAKNESSES With back to back seasons ending in traumatic knee injuries, durability is a major red flag. There are also the questions of how his medicals will check out, and how much he will be able to contribute his rookie season. Even before his injuries, struggled to get into a second or third gear in order to break off longer gains.
NFL COMPARISON Arian Foster

BOTTOM LINE Lattimore offers an extremely intriguing blend of power, balance, vision and production. However, it's hard not to question his future durability and how much of the same player he will be going forward after major injuries to both knees in consecutive seasons.

Very cool! ... I would have gone with Poyer or Fragel, but I like the value and player here. We can still get a DB and OT later. Hoping the best for this determined, young RB!

Won't even cost us a roster spot this year. And as Casserly said, he's the best back in this draft when healthy.

Knowing how you can come back from injuries like this, this looks like a fantastic pick

Incredible, incredible. Just like eveeryone wanted.

Let the guy sit out the entire season and get the knee back to as close to 100% as its going to get and he just might be teh long sought future replacement for Frank.

Agreed, this is what I would have done. Oh well, I would rather have them take Lattimore than Mathieu...so glad we 'missed out' on that headcase.

NFL net hit this one on the head. Luxury pick for sure. He gets a shot with a team who doesnt necessarily need a RB, but will give him a fair shot. WIth the depth of your team already, no reason not to take a shot here. Rooting for the guy to comeback after that injury, but not as muhc now since he is with you all Very Happy

Good pick.

He will most likely be on the IR this season and get to compete in 2014.

Dr. James Andrews apparently said Lattimore will "shock the world" a while back.

Any chance he plays this year? Could we PUP him and play him mid-season?

No need to. Would he even see the field with Gore/Hunter/James all needing touches?

I dont think we even bother playing him till very late in the season if at all. But It depends on who gets hurt and how Lattimore heals

The only thing we know for sure is that he wont be wearing #21. Cool

Yeah. we could. I'd want him to take the whole year to recover... make sure his conditioning and mental game is improved. I just can not see us needing him to take a snap this season.

I'm so happy we picked him. Made my day.

No need to play him this year, but watch out next year boys.
