I like our receivers a lot better than last years. They are not as good as they could/should have been, but I know they would have scored a lot more than 13 points against Bmore.

If Patterson, I am almost 100% sure everone would here never have had to read another "NBT WANTS A RECEIVER" post again. With Dobson, that MAY be the case, but I less confident.

NBT, re-watch Boyce's highlight reel. Pay less attention to pure speed and more to body control/positioning, open-field elusiveness and coverage recognition. There's no way you can tell me he isn't an elite prospect in all 3 of those areas, which are the ones the Pats value most.

The Pats value the wrong things. Isn't that obvious from reading years of NBT's posts?

Like it. Like all our picks except Harmon so far.

I really like all of our picks and where we were able to land them. I am a huge advocate of the trade, like CP (and no not Cordarrelle Patterson), We out of that deal-got {Collins, Dobson check the new sig, Ryan and Harmon who very well could be worth that pick even tho some/most do not like the unknown and fear it. And Boyce fell to where we hoped he would...into our laps...thanks Tzi and Co. for mentioning him and starting the good fortune} and Minny ends up w/ Cordarrelle Patterson. I love the Patriots draft as a whole for the first time in my NFL Draft viewing time...about 5 years. Filled holes with play makers and had them fall to us at that.

Dobson, Boyce, and Amendola...

I can dig it.

Going by their receiver issues outside my favorite issue....yes. i bet you find it shocking, but I loathed the Chad Jackson pick. Holmes was my favored reciever and I wanted him over Maroney.

Wanted to trade for Moss right then. Laughing

Like I said, I preferred him as a #2 guy, which by my standards would be a #1 guy in most the other posters eyes.

Really wonder what this means for Aaron Hernandez, as he is more a WR than TE. He should not be getting snaps (away from the offensive line where he is lined up as a TE) over Amendola, Dobson, or Boyce.

They'll find ways to use Hernandez, no doubt in my mind. Especially if the learning curve for Dobson is steep. He's valuable in a lot of ways to this team.

Wow, I actually got something right. From that WR thread from a few days ago.

Re evaluating him...

Suddenness in speed is more critical than elite top speed or elite quickness (though the combo is otherworldly, see R. Moss, C. Patterson). Boyce has excellent suddenness to his speed; with some proper coaching, he could be Torrey Smith like effective on deep balls.

For such a bad draft with poor first round talent, I'm loving these picks.
