I find it quite ridiculous that people in the General Forum in the OROY discussion thread never once mention Ball, yet list Ertz, Michael, Franklin, Dobson and other - for now - depth chart fodder players as more likely to make an impact than a bonafide workhorse RB in a system which allows for easy running plays. I'd bet my left nut that even Eddie Lacy won't outproduce Ball given the Packers inclination to go pass heavy (yes, I am aware of the fact that OL troubles played a role in that as well).

I dunno how much you travel over there, but there's literally never any respect for the Broncos or their players in NFLGen or NFLComparisons. It's the way it goes. But yeah, Aaron Dobson as OROY LOL okay.

Since EJ Manuel is the only QB with a chance, he'd be the favorite at that postion, but he sucks.

Usually RB wins in a situation like that, but I don't see any of the RBs aside from Lacy having a starting job (and Ball) but Tavon Austin, to me is the choice, unless he gets hurt.

Too many who don't know what they are talking about but act like they do instead of knowing when their opinion might not be on a solid footing. Can't stand it. And by nature of the amount of members too many to argue with, hence too much to keep track of. I usually just read through the News and Draft forum. NFL General is a waste of time. I prefer the knowledgable peeps in these quarters here.

I go there to argue. Just wait till the offseason goes a bit longer. Things really get comical then.

He really does have a wicked stiff arm.

And he may not be "fast" but he sure is quick.

I wonder what number Ball is going to wear? 28 is taken by Quinton Carter, and 22 will probably go to Kayvon Webster. 22 does not seem fitting, anyways. That leaves 36, 38, 39, 41, 43, 44, 47, 48, 49 for Ball. I suppose 38 will be his choice. A number in the 30s to honor his idol Terrell Davis and the 8 as a remnant of his former college number.

A lazy Sunday afternoon, I know.
Players will be cut after TC so he'll probably switch if he really cares.

Yeah just like how Hillman started off with number 34 and now obviously rocks 21 I always like it when RBs get a number in the 20s but thats just me being biased and maybe a little OCD

He does just keep making cuts till he finds the hole he wants to go through.

Almost any other time I'd say taking Badger RBs is a an absolute no-no. [I live in Wisconsin and watch lots of Badger football despite being a Vikings fan] But Montee Ball is the exception, He has elite vision and is durable as hell. Also the lines he ran behind simply aren't up to par of some of the Wisconsin O-lines of the past so he had to more on his own. you'll love him guys.

I heard that, too. That in fact the Badgers' OL was not as good as widely believed in 2012, so much so that Ball does not get the praise he deserves for still performing at a high level. The OL coach even got fired after Cowboys' first rounder Frederick raised a mutiny on the basis of the former's incompetence.

Couple more examples of that stiff arm:

Also, here's some of the hard running we'll need:

I love the Montee Ball pick. IMO Ball will be the best back from this draft.

Knowshon - at least in college - was the same one cut runner with a bit more explosion but less strength. Ball can pile-drive whereas Moreno cannot. Ball also runs with more balance and can actually break a few tackles.

If anything, Ball is a middle class Marshawn Lynch. Not as much burst, yet same immediacy and power.

Yeah I can see that it's gonna be terrible if montee turns out like Knowshon tho, and when I read that comparison my heart sank a little. I still don't understand how he was so dominant in college in the best conference in college and then just be meh in his first few years

I stated this comparison before. I agree. Being an UGA fan I watched so much of Knowshon in College and Ball is similar to me. I believe Ball will be more successful because of his attitude and work ethic. Knowshon could have made it in this league, if he worked hard.
