To be fair, Woz, speakin' about Reed's company (with the current stuff going on) is pretty pertinent.

Then again, talking specifically about Hernandez is wrong. The question becomes whether Reed was just giving lip service or was he truly good friends with Hernandez. Pro Players always talking about being friends with each other, but that doesn't always mean its anything more then putting on a good public face.

i don't think the two even played at Florida together, did they?

Hernandez was a Urban Meyer player, Reed was a Muschamp player.

I see that Reed is from New London Conneticut, so they may know each other but still we should give Reed the benefit of the doubt here.

Reed redshirted in 2009, when he got to watch Hernandez, and presumably get to know him. Since Reed said they were good friends.

After redshirting, he played some snaps at WR and QB in 2010 (when Hernandez was drafted), then switched to TE in 2011

And yes, they were also both from Connecticut, in addition to being on the same Florida team.

Aaron Hernandez had some character issues comming out of college. Failed frug tests etc.... ( not saying failing a drug test makes you more likely to commit murder).... just the fact that he had character issues before he got to the Patriots. I have never herd anything about Reed having character issues. Seems like a good kid with a good work ethic. Changing positions in college his not an easy thing to do...esp going from QB to a skilled postion and performing as well as he did. Im not sure these comparison of Reed and Hernandez are fair. Aaron Hernandez roomed with Tim Tebow while at Florida....Just because you know someone doesnt mean you have similar issues!!!!

True, Marcus. Hernandez slipped in the draft from possible first to a fourth round pick largely because of "anger issues", those multiple failed drug tests and according to NFL team scouting : They didn't like "who he hung out with". So, like his time with the Patriots, when he distanced himself from other players off the field, it was likely the same in FLA.

I don't remember any of those red flags with Reed either, and he will have a great support group here. Thanks.

Here's a point that's worth making. The Patriots haven't been too good at drafting players in a while and it shows up because if the Pats didn't have Brady, I think most can agree they'd be the worst team in the AFCE based off the rest of their talent or how their other picks either have flopped totally or aren't huge contributors.

The Pats haven't drafted a dominant RB since Curtis Martin, nor a dominant WR since Terry Glenn. IMO

THey haven't drafted a dominant DE/3-4 OLB since Willie McGinest. Imo

They haven't drafted a dominant DT/NT since Vince Wilfork. IMO

They haven't drafted a dominant DB since Asante Samuel. IMO

That's 9 years + for all of those positions on the Patriots.
