Duke Williams, Phillip Thomas, Baccari Rambo, tony Jefferson and Shamarko Thomas still available at Safety. I think we have good options still in round 4
Ya I think we'll still draft a safety somewhere.

I would put money that, if he's their, Duke Williams is gonna be the pick in the 4th. They're in love with that kid.

true, but thy seemed to love Phillip Thomas also. Both would be great 4th round selections.

Two late round guys I like are John Boyett and Cody Davis

Because if he does well enough, we simply let Davis walk after this year.

And if we can replicate Davis' ceiling (or thereabouts) we have him for four years at an extremely cheap price.

I'll admit I'm a bit surprised by this, but I'm willing to let it play out. I think leaving Jesse Williams on the board was ridiculous, though.

Matt Miller from bleacher report says he compares to Fred Davis:

If Davis has a good season we can either resign him or franchise him and trade him for picks. Reed gives us flexibility. Also, a lot of teams are using two pass catching TEs now. We like our WRs to be able to block anyways, so think of him like a blocking WR.

Goddammit. That's why. Dammit.

I'm sure he'll be great and I'll eat my words

Not sure what this response means....

Sorry. Totally irrational response as I started saying Philli...then heard Reed's name. I just needto acknowledge that they are smarter than me and someone great will be there for us in the fourth.

So is it Niles or Logan that is cut?

I suppose we could always carry 4 TEs. But Paulsens skill set (blocker) is more valuable than anything Paul provides to the team IMO.

I would think Niles. One thing I noticed a few days back was that on NFL.com, Niles Paul was listed as a WR (he's still listed as a TE on redskins.com). I didn't think much of it at the time, but this pick is a shot across all three guys' bows.

That's my thought, I think they must have come to the conclusion that was a failed experiment. Paulsen is the only decent blocking te so I figure he's gotta be the one to stay. I am warming up to that whole double TE idea.

I think it comes down to that fact that covering a 6'2" 245lb athletic TE is just damn hard for a defense to do. That's the way the NFL is heading and you can see why.

The best chance Niles Paul has at making the team is as a special teams ace. Just as he did in 2011 and 2012. If he can continue to be one of the teams best special teamers, he'll be kept.

With the loss of Lorenzo Alexander, we'll need players like Niles Paul to step up and fill that void
