Apparently he's hardly ever played safety?

I know very little about him. But my dreams of drafting Josh Evans just died.

Still got a chance on a RB or LB doe!

Last two picks have been great IMO. Wilcox is a very good athlete. Was originally a RB and slot WR before converting to safety in his senior year. Top shuttle time in the combine.

Like the pick. I don't think that picture is big enough though.

We need to trade up for warford and Taylor. Can we get this giant pic fixed to something normal...

Former receiver with hands and great quickness and a 4.51 40 I like it

Amazing athlete with awesome range for a deep safety in a cover 2 zone. Problem is, he tackles about as well as my little sister does. He's great at getting into positin for a break up of the pass completion, but if the ball is caught already, that's not the guy I want trying to make the touchdown saving tackle on an NFL receiver.

So Armstead drops a round. He is a perfect fit for G or RT in zbs, and we take a wr? Are we gonna draft Sean Lee's replacement too?

HT's son let us down since the first round.

We don't run a zbs? And with Frederick that's even more apparent were running a big power run scheme going forward

We want OL, S, WR, DL and RB. We draft OL, S and WR.

No one is happy. Love this board and fan base. They aren't the guy I read a scouting report about so they aren't going to be any good.

Argue value if you want, fine. The players have been good though.

We do run a variation of the zone block system up front. It's not the typical cut block, stretch run oriented variation made popular by Mike Shanny when he was in Denver, but we do run a variation of such.

And while a power blocking system has it's intrigue, we lack the backfield to fit such a mold; and our hgh round investment of a couple years back, Tyron Smith, is far better suited for finesse blocking, not straight forward power blocking. He's got the body to do it, but all the features that make him good - footwork, hips, hands - will be negated, and he'll be playing to his lesser quality features being forced to push straight ahead. He's not the sheer, raw poer, leg driver, body mover type.

Which is what makes the pick of Fredrick so baffling to me. It's like saying, "We are going to have chicken for dinner. So I'm going to start seasoning the beef." You need to draft OLs who all fit a specific type of blocking mold. If you start to mix and match blocking styles and play styles up front, you're forcing some of those guys to play to elements that are NOT their best style of play.

Wilcox is a boom or bust Safety. Very raw at the position. Has good hands and great range. Is a converted RB/WR. Can be that ballhawk that Kiffin was looking for.

Not much material on him at Safety.
