What did you expect him to say, "I deserved to be the number 1 pick of the draft?" Wink

Right here.

That's not answering the question at all..
.that is your opinion and attempted wise guy response to me saying Howie shouldn't be going around saying Kyle was about to be drafted right after our pick when Howie actually has no idea if that was the case considering he wasn't in any other franchises war room and saying other teams were talking to him doesn’t qualify him to make the statement either...the Bears were on the phone to James Starks a few years back and then we went in a different direction…the only fact we actually have is that Kyle Long himself said that he was surprised to be drafted as high as he was.

Yes. That answers the question quite succinctly.

Again...no it doesn't because Kyle Long did not say "I deserved to be the number 1 pick of the draft?" you said that...what Kyle Long said "I was surprised to go that high"...see the difference between what the guy actually said and what you said?...so I'll ask you again...If Kyle thought it was surprising that he went so high what are the actual chances that Howie knew he was going off the board right after our pick?

The lack of critical thinking skills used to compose the question does not even warrant the extensive response it would take to answer.

That is a really convoluted way of saying you have no idea how to answer that question without making yourself look like more of an idiot.

I am not sure Long was a reach when multiple teams right after the Bears pick were set to take him.

Says who?

Says Howie Long.

Specifically, he said that, once Pugh was drafted, Long was going to be drafted within the next five picks, so the Bears had to take him at 20 if they wanted him. He didn't say what he was basing that on. It's not the same as saying "my son is really talented, so I knew all along that he was a first round pick".

So, I made a post on the NFL Draft forum saying why our draft is being underrated. I'm being outnumbered so come help me out! That is if you believe me. People are saying Bostic is a 4th rounder Rolling Eyes.

That's wrong anyway, but even if it were true, we took Khaseem Greene in the fourth so it all evens out Very Happy

We got 3 sure fire starters in Long, Bostic and Greene. Mills with the potential to be a starter down the line. Solid draft IMO.

Well my grades are finished on the OP…would have done it last night but Jon Jones was fighting lol…

Best pick for me – Khaseem Greene…I would have taken him over Bostic in the 2nd…I think he is an outstanding fit for us and great value in the 4th.

Worst pick for me…Kyle Long as a first round OG…when he moves to OT after a year or two of experience that may change.

Kyle Long - D. I felt this was a reach. He has 1st round athleticism but he's only started a couple games and has serious off the field issues.

Jon Bostic - B. I had a couple LBs rated ahead of him but it was a log jam with those guys. I really like this pick. He's the perfect MLB for our scheme without giving up the physicality that you want from your MLB.

Khaseem Greene - A. Great value pick. Kid is a playmaker. His instincts arent elite and he needs more experience but he's great value with starters potential.

Jordan Mills - B. I like this pick. I'm not sure where he plays though. Needs technique work but he has starting ability. More competition for the OL.

Cornellius Washington - A. I love this pick. We needed another DE and this value is unreal. His athletic ability and workout numbers are truly elite. Has a great burst with his hand on the ground. Elite closing speed and strength. Poor technique and limited pass rush moves but will be a good STer, will likely be a pass rush specialist and has starters ability.

Marquess Wilson - A. Another pick I love. I mocked this kid to us a while ago with a much earlier pick I believe. He has day 2 ability. Who knows if his off the field issues are real or not but he has the traits I love in a WR. Good quickness, hands and the ability to go up and get it. Starters potential and has the ability to spell all 3 spots.

1. Long-B
A player I really like, would like to have traded down a bit, maybe into the 2nd to pick him up, but there are no guarantees and Emery wasn't willing to deal. I'm ok w/that. He will play more snaps this year than anybody people wanted us to draft ahead of him at 20. Will spend 2 years at OG and probably move to LT eventually.

2. Bostic-A
All you know how much I love Jon Bostic. Alec Ogletree is the only LB I wanted ahead of him in the draft.

4. Greene-A
Honestly wasn't expecting to find a Briggs replacement this year, but that's what Greene will be. Turnover machine who fits perfectly in our D.

5. Mills-B
Mills is a very good prospect inside. I like his confidence. Good athlete, has a mean streak. I view him as a starting OG down the line.

6. Washington-B
As I stated in the draft forum, Washington would be an A if Rod Marinelli were still here. Freak athlete, w/ stupid high upside.

7. Wilson-D
I just don't see the point in this pick. He's not a special playmaker type, I don't see him making the team as he's not better than any WR currently on the roster, nor does he play STs. If you're going to take a flyer on a WR here, it should have been Da'Rick Rogers

Long A-
Rated higher than Pugh, Long is not as polished. He shows talent well beyond a player with his experience. Bears trusted their eyes, not the prognosticators.

Bostic B
Versatile pick who should push for playing time. Although I dislike the idea some have of 'value,' he presents average value.

Greene A
It has all already been said. Great value, potential starter from the get-go who pushes for playing time. At worst, great backup to further develop.

Mills B+
Good depth player who increases competition for roster spots. Others are now on-notice that Heads are on the chopping block.

Washington B+
Given time and coached up, could be one of the great values of this Bears draft class.
EDIT: On what he heard from the Bears in the draft process:
“I didn’t hear much from them at all to be honest with you, it was a surprise to me but a very nice surprise. I’m just ready, I’m just ready to get going.”
Sounds like a typical value pick where Bears had not had contact at all.

Wilson B+
This is the type of guy you take a chance on at this point in the draft. May need to bulk up by spending some time in the weight room and will need plenty of time on the Jugs machine.

Kyle Long - B - Physical, mean, athletic, versatile. Some may think its a reach, I don't. Has all the tools to be a pro bowl OG. Steps in and starts day 1 for us.

Jon Bostic - B - Anither versatile player that can play all 3 linebacker positions. MLB of the future.

Khaseem Greene - A - what a great pick. Great value as we got a 2nd round talent in the 4th round. Future Briggs replacement.

Jordan Mills - A- ... Good pick for this late. Could be RG of future or RT. at the very least, competition for this year.

Washington - B - don't know much about him. Athletic speed rusher. Needs time to develop. Could be solid player down the road.

Marquess Wilson - A - steal this late. Tons of upside. Could be #4 receiver this year IMO.
