Really pumped about this pick. I really wanted to see the tight end position addressed. I'm not pleased by Moeaki's development and injuries, and while Fasano is a nice signing, I wanted a good third tight end on the roster. Enter Travis Kelce.

Bold prediction: the battle between staying on the roster in camp will be between Tony Moeaki and Kevin Brock.

Arenas and Moeaki both could be out of spot. Both in the last year of their contracts and both can be replaced.

Hope Chiefs still look at TE Luke Wilson or Lucas Reed if they're there as UDFA's.

Get a grip you guys...is this the same reasoning being used for speculating Wylie may knock DMX out of a spot last year? Moeaki has missed no more time than Berry or Charles and Arenas proved even more valuable than before by proving he could hold his own as a starting CB and he's still our most dependable PR....these guys aren't going anywhere.

Charles and Berry have shown more than Moeaki. I'm not saying they're getting cut. I'm saying it could happen and wouldn't necessarily shock me.

Its a new regime bro, I'm expecting plenty of Pioli guys to be out of a job at some point. Unless they prove their worth, this was a 1 win team last year after all.

Browns fan here I just wanted to stop in and say you guys just got the steal of the draft. Travis Kelce is a do it all machine all over the field. He can block as an inline TE, in motion, from the backfield, he pulls and traps as well as some lineman. He is an athletic freak who can stretch the seems better than Eifert or Ertz. The guy runs with speed and power. He is not quite on the same level as Gronkowski, but only a half notch below.

He was the only TE I had a 1st round grade on and 15th overall of only 15 1st rounders this year. I have been watching TEs a lot this year too as my Browns were in need of a starter. I know I am just some guy and not a big shot NFL scout, but I do have a decent track record especially when I truely fall in love with a prospect.

With the lack of truely elite QBs, WRs and RBs I believe Travis Kelce could be a legit threat to win offensive rookie of the year. Fasano is a joke of starter and no team has any excuse for starting him while Moaeki has been the glass man after a solid rookie season. I still have to look into it, but Travis Kelce could be the first TE to win OROY.

Peace.

Anybody else see flashes of Tony when Travis bodies a catch against a defender? Not trying to hype man or anything but its a nice thing to see.

Really liking the pick from the Game Film I'm seeing.

Two solid Blockers/Pass Catchers in Moeaki and Kelce, a dream situation for Smith. If this means more double TE sets in the future I'm a happy man.

Great pick here. TMo can't stay healthy and Fasano is an above average TE that I am still excited about, but honestly I think TK is the TE of the future for us.

I among many other SF fans wanted Kelce in the late 2nd.. rather than Vance McDonald. At least he went to KC, and I can see him being very useful in helping your offense get rolling. Alex likes and is used to his 2 TE sets, so I hope that this is the route Reid is going with the offense (sure seems it).

on local radio here in KC they like to call the 3rd round of the draft the felon round. This is the round the first round talents that had off the field questions get drafted. We've seen it with Justin Houston. Hopefully we see it with Kelce! I like the player (not the position I think I'd have picked here). Another weapon and at a position Smith likes to throw to (TE).

Here's a nice breakdown of Kelce's game. Got me pumped.

With all the things that the 'experts' say Kelce doesn't do well, speed out of cuts, etc., they come back and compare him to Gronk...................OK, I'll live with that. Rolling Eyes

I see him more as a Mark Bavaro type of TE. Tough, gritty blocker with above average receiving skills and enough agility to develop into a weapon in the passing game. As of now, though, he's primarily a blocker. With Reid as our HC, I don't see him contributing a ton in the passing game until at least the 2nd half of the season unless he's an extremely quick learner and picks up the route tree and footwork with Superhuman-like quickness.
