Nice find.

Well it seems as if 98% of us are in-love with this pick. He's a guy I've always coveted, just didn't see him on the same level as Warmack and Cooper. That's no knock on him though, I believe those two are two of the top #5 guard prospects in the past 20 years.

Something to think about though, Warmack played in the same conference as him but he played in arguably the premier OL in D1 football with multiple coveted OL prospects beside him whereas Warford WAS the Kentucky OL and basically made them what there were on the ground and put up those numbers. Do you think that they maybe closer then some think but since Warmack played on Bama he is just more well known and visible compared to Warford or do you truly believe he is simply better ?
I've seen them both enough to know Warmack is better. He moves more fluidly, dominates at the POA more consistently, and just knows who and where to attack like no other guard I've ever seen at the collegiate level.

Don't take my compliments to Warmack as criticisms of Warford, I just think Warmack is the Ndamukong Suh of offensive line prospects. Still, I'm as excited as I've been since we selected Suh, about the selection of Warford. I would've been more than pleased with him at #36, so #65 is bloody murder.

I love this pick.

He is the type of player that can give the Lions oline a big boost. The Lions best pick of the draft.

So the consensus is…

Chance Warmack = Ndamukong Suh
Larry Warford = Geno Atkins

Sound legit ?

That's if we are already crowing Larry Warford as the best guard in football.

And we say Mayhew doesnt draft for need...

Great pick.

I, along with a lot of people, saw Warford as a 2nd round prospect.

He can be beat off the snap and across the face from time to time, but once he gets his paws on you, its over.

This averages out the Slay pick for me.

I was praying for Warford at this point, but I was expecting a curveball from Mayhew and get a receiver...

Fills a huge need and should be a big upgrade on Peterman.

Missed the entire 2nd/3rd rounds last night due to a work happy hour (which was freakin' awesome ... "company sponsored")

Anyhow, waking up and seeing this after I saw Slay last night turned this draft from a C to a B immediately for me. Had Warford at about 88 overall (94 for Coop, 95 for Warmack).

Absolutely thrilled. Find some more value with our comp pick and I'll start to like this draft.

I think he will end up being better then Warmack though, just call it a hunch I guess.

Nice to get a day 1 starter in the 3rd round. Just glad we're addressing the OL and other needs.

All three guys we drafted have a pretty good shot of starting day 1. That's good, but yet bad.

I think it's great. Tells me Xander's influence is real. Hopefully Mayhew is done with the nonsense.

Bye bye and good riddance.

That's a little harsh. At least he was man enough to admit he needed help. Still, thank goodness Xander's making an immediate impact with the draft.

Gentlemen... if we can get Schwenke and Fragel somehow at comp pick and 5th rounder, I'm going to have an accident I'd be so excited. That would, IMO, set our line up for 10 years if they are the prospects I think they are. Obviously we'd have to replace Sims at some point.

David Bahktiari and Jordan Mills are also good OT options.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Agree with you 100%.
