Mayock said that he was better than his more advertised teammate.
Take that as you wish.

Nice athlete. Let us see what he can contribute on the field.

gratz is better than wreh-wilson. Ive seen every uconn game over both of their careers and gratz fits our defense much better. He is a competitor and will be a great fit.

I would have rather had sio moore but I am very happy with gratz

@ryanohalloran: Caldwell said Gratz played more than 160 snaps of press last year for UConn.

I like him. He's a solid nickell-type. I was hoping we could snag a guy to help man the outside, but the kid will help out plenty and passing on Cyprien would have been hard to do.

With the first three rounds through and nobody brought in to man one of the outside spots, I expect to bring in an affordable veteran to bridge the gap this season. I think Ball can be adequate on one side as a physical jam corner, but the other side is going to be ugly.

Although it can be said Gratz fits the Browner mold of a decent sized, physical corner, I think he's best suited to play inside. Harris is as well.

If the season started in the morning, I guess Gratz could be a better fit on the outside than Haris. It's far from ideal though.

I think a veteran piece is needed to start the season on the outside.

That's just where I stand halfway through the draft though.

Just a quick observation;
It looked like he played safety about a quarter of the time with a little nickell sprinkled in here and there. Much more often than not in that scenario, he was at or near the ball very quickly.

What I'm getting at is: any chance he settles in at safety at some point? He looked very comfortable getting physical at the line as well as attacking the ball from a little deep. But those two videos are the only "tape" I've seen of the guy.

I don't know a lot about him quite yet. But I know a lot of places had him fitting in as a safety until he showed his burner speed and great strength, showing that he could play press man at the NFL level.

I would've thought his former teammate Blidi Wreh-Wilson would've been the guy over Gratz, for his more 'lockdown' potential. But i like the pick either way, and it's clear that Caldwell+Gus are placing a heavy emphasis on physical and being a 'tough team to play against'. And in that vein, Gratz is clearly the more suitable pick.

Excited to see how he settles in as an outside guy. Seems fair to say there are some questions there, but as we've seen in Seattle...Gratz could excel there in the sort of system Gus is going to want to run.

Love that Caldwell is giving Bradley exactly the sort of guys he's gonna want. That's how you build a winning franchise...as opposed to Gene who never really seemed to have a particular 'plan' or 'vision', just drafting players he liked.
