Not gonna lie, I couldn't be more bummed out about a draft pick. With all the other talented players at other positions we could have had, this pick blows my mind. Sincerely disappointed with this decision.

Just think, we could've had Werner and Alford now. Laughing

Unexpected but its already growing on me. We needed another corner, Alford, is a really good one. And hes not unknown in the least a la jackson or owens, kid is a stud and people know it.

Now we're covered if mcclain regresses and when Asante leaves as well.

The good news is he should be a starter in 1-2 years if he's really good enough.

I think we stay in a lot of nickel packages with Alford and Trufant outside with McClain at NB. That's all after Asante is gone btw

The obvious (and slightly lazy) comparison for a crazy athletic 5'10 CB and returner from the Southland Conference drafted in the 60-90 range is the other guy in the league who fits that description.

And if he gets close to meeting that, then we've done alright....

(it's Lardarius Webb from the Ravens)

Great pick. Yeah, I know everyone wanted a pass rusher, but Alford also fills a huge need. We really needed a playmaker at CB.

Awesome pick. I told you guys CB was still a huge need. The Falcons had three quality CB's on the roster before the pick. Three start in Nolan's defense. Do you guys not see the problem with that? Alford is crazy talented who could even start as a rookie. I'm not sold on McClain yet. Even if he is the #4 this year, he will most likely eventually start as Samuel won't last forever. Trufant and Alford should be fun to watch over the years.

You're not going to forget this pick for a while.

You guys remember that time I said we needed another CB even after we took Trufant in round one, and we took Alford? Man I totally called that!

All of what you said above is true though Very Happy

After seeing the third round, it made me feel better about taking Alford, seein players like Okafor and Greene drop. And we were NEVER getting Moore, so it's ok that he was taken.

Maybe the FO knows something about Samuel that we don't. Like some sort of injury or they think regression is imminent. In that case, this pick makes a ton of sense.
