In researching this pick I figured out why the NFL draft is an inexact science....

From ESPN:
Strengths...Because of his loose hips, Bostic is an ideal fit in a Tampa-2 system because of his ability to turn and run in pass coverage.

From SI:
WEAKNESSES...Being tight in the hips hinders his ability to adjust quickly when receiver crosses his face.

It goes to show that one must really know all of the nuances of each individual position in order to properly evaluate draft talent. It is easy for us to be armchair GM's and we all want to be right about our guy. However, when the people who get paid the big bucks to evaluate the talent often swing and miss, that should tell us that we should trust those who are chosen to represent our team until fully given a reason to do otherwise.

Good pick, and we needed to take him with the run on LBs. Hopefully we take a pass rusher, either a WR and.or a TE and either a DB or another O-lineman

I think Emery picked him based on his ability to play mike, unlike Brown or Greene.

He's also a bigger player than Brown. I believe that Bostic can play all 3 LB positions if needed. Emerys theme seems to be a big athletic players who can play multiple roles at their position.

@ChicagoBears
Emery says that he thinks that Bostic will come in learning the middle LB spot first. #Bears #Bearsdraft #nfldraft

Here's his vicious hit in the Sugar Bowl.

Bears could have traded down, gained a 3rd and still get this guy.

Yes finnaly some one said it. Mostly every one is basing there grades on there emotions on this site. Just becuse he was not the player you wanted or rated as high as the medea is rating the other players. I trust the guys more that are getting payed to do this then people sitting behind a computer screen. Yes the guys that get payed to do this are wrong some of the time but I take there word over random posters. In Emery I trust.

Oh? Its just that easy to make a trade with 31 other teams in 10 min and make sure you can get your guy latter..... give Emry a break. If the guy is his highest rated guy on your bourd.... you take him. You don't go off of media ranking lol

Bears were offered a trade down and declined.

Just as with Kyle Long...who was going to be taken (by multiple teams) if the Bears passed on him, they probably felt the same was true of Bostic.

Love this pick. The guy is a warrior and leader on the field and gets to learn from Briggs. He has the chance to be very special I believe.

I absolutely LOVE this pick. I've made it no secret how much I've learned to love Bostic over the past few months. The kid is a run and chase LBer who is not afraid to fill a hole either. Think Bobby Wagner.
