I'm a big Kendall Wright fan and I agree with s_camp. I don't think Wright will ever truly be a #1 WR. Wright's playstyle reminds me a lot Santonio Holmes and I think his career could play out the same (besides the off field troubles).Holmes is a decent #1 receiver but a great #2 receiver. Now that I think about it, I think our offense will be similar to the 2010 Jets (Locker/Sanchez, CJ/LT, Greene/Greene, Britt/Edwards, Wright/Holmes, not sure about Hunter's comparison though, maybe Keller. Think).

I was just pointing out the stats.

I remember watching him last year thinking he didn't look that explosive.

Allow me to refresh your memory then.

You can't look at this, watch how many tackles he broke in space last year, and tell me he doesn't look that explosive.

Kendall Wright was drafted because they knew they couldn't trust Kenny Britt long term. Even with a big comeback year, its hard to imagine the titans offering him much more than the Franchise tag. I don't see kenny Britt in the Titan's long term plans, especially now with Hunter in fold.

Aside from one play against JAX and some screen plays against the entire AFCS, I'm not seeing "explosive" in that highlight package. And really, any NFL player should look explosive on a decently-blocked screen play.

Check some Randy Moss or early CJ videos for a refresher on what "explosive" looks like.

If these guys drafted Wright to take Britt's spot, they're dumber than rocks. Wright just isn't the kind of player Britt is. Not saying he's worse, but I don't see how he could replace Britt if/when (lol, ok just when) Britt costs himself his job.

what I just read was, "aside of a few plays were he looked explosive, and some more plays were he looked explosive, he otherwise doesn't look explosive." You can't discount the plays he looks explosive on, then say he's not explosive. I see a guy running thru arm tackles to pick up first downs. How is that not explosion? Trivalize it if you want, but Damien Williams wasn't doing that, Lavelle Hawkins wasn't either, hell even Nate doesn't make people miss often.

And if that's your standard for "explosive" then there have only been 3-5 explosive athlete's in NFL history. Those are two of the best athletes to ever lace up cleats. Those once in a generation kind of athlete's. I'm not claiming Kendall Wright is that kind of athlete, but he is explosive enough to be a great WR.

Also Kendall wasn't drafted to be the player Kenny is. He was drafted because they believed he could play well inside and outside and they wanted another talented Wr to have on the edge for if/when Kenny gets himself suspended. That's what I meant by 'replace' him.

Ultimately this argument is pointless, you will all be cheering for Kendall Wright this fall regardless.

Then you need some reading help, because that's not what I said. Of course he looked explosive on screen plays - he's running in a straight(ish) line with plenty of blocking around him. There was one play in that video against JAX where he looked unusually quick and fast. Aside from that, he looks like a normal NFL WR, i.e., not notably explosive. I didn't trivialize anything. Running through arm tackles isn't what I think of when I think "explosive." Williams, Washington, and Hawkins have nothing to do with this.

I never said I wouldn't be cheering for anybody in two tone blue. I'll even be cheering for Britt.
