Dont know if we have enough money in cap space to sign him(unless jared restructures)but he is a pretty solid 3 down LB...kinda surprised he has not signed anywhere...would be a good stop gap for a year or two....upgrade over anyone on the roster and better than Urlacher IMO

Depending on how the rest of the draft shapes up we may not even need him.

Id rather have Karlos Dansby at MLB then Urlacher. Id be on board with Dansby.

I'd rather put Erin in the middle and start Mitchell at WLB if we don't address the position in the draft of course. There's a reason Dansby is still a FA.

Age or money?

Throw in declining ability and you've probably got your answer.

I am surprised no one is really talking about Audie Cole.. From what I remember he was pretty impressive in preseason last year. I know it's only
Preseason but I would like to see what he has rather than signing one of these old guys or using a LB better suited for OLB

Your gonna move a guy out of Position and Play a guy he has very little game experience ..Dansby is a solid player ,I belive Miami just wanted fresh young players...look what Miami has done in the offseason they have purged their whole roster...Dansby is a victim of a new regime...many good players have this happen

Tackles 885
Sacks 31.5
Interceptions 11
Forced fumbles 15

pretty solid stats...Was franchised twice in Arizona..this guy is no scrub

Didn't say he was a scrub. I said he's older, going to command more money (than he's worth), and isn't the same player that was franchised twice.

He's got a lot of mileage on him.

Agreed, I think this will be the route to take.

Im not talking about him playing for Ten years with us..he has a couple quality years left and is an upgrade over anyone on our team..If you can get him for 2-3million ayear he would be worth it

You have your opinion, I have mine. He would be coming in and learning a completely new system, have completely new responsibilities, and will be doing so without the benefit of OTA install periods.

Now, he's a veteran and it won't likely hinder him too much, but I still don't see him being more effective than putting Erin Henderson in the middle. Erin knows our concepts, has practiced at MLB in our system, and is already one of the defensive leaders in the huddle.

He's also been in pretty deep conversations with Buffalo, so it's all, hopefully, a moot point.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread.

Also surprised to see a fellow Vikings/Knicks fan. Rare - and great - combo!

Dansby would be a great option if we can afford him.
