Looks fast to me.

Yup, definitely fast.

OK, I admit, I've never watched Boyce before, but if those highlights of an indicator of anything, he seems like a Patriot all over, the shifty-ness, the YAC ability, the agility. Wow. I could get on board with this. I don't want to drive the bandwagon, but I'll certainly hop on.

There's a reason I've been bringing his name up for months. He's good. I still watch a lot of Texas football, even though I've moved, and he's one of my favorite guys to play in-state. Of course, like I've said elsewhere, the Patriots won't draft him, they don't like to draft good receivers.

Well, I've seen you pimp him a little bit over the off-season so I've had his name in my head, I've just never actually taken it any further than that. I'm watching some stuff of him now and he does seem like a WR that the Pats could use. He seems very prototypical of what we like with our more outside guys.

IIRC, hasn't he had some injury stuff over the off-season or am I making this up?

BTW
Last nights drinkng game rules, which i forgot to post, were

-chug 5 seconds every time they show geno smith falling
-drink every time the fans boo
-drink every time a jets fan looks like an idiot
-drink every time Goodell acts like he actually likes the players (he is really just thinking about future fines he will give them)
-blackout every time the pats pass a nasty WR

I was so upset that i completely sobered up in like half an hour. Crying or Very sad

They are all wearing like Mark Sanchez jerseys, this is a drink every time

Foot issue. Broken, I believe, which should depress his draft stock a bit. I think he can be had comfortably in the 4th round, maybe even 5th.

So our double dip WR's is going to be Woods and Boyce, with Collins thrown in between?

PROFIT.

For all the folks claiming Dobson has good hands, here 4 in 2 games

Almost dropped another

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB7QRqAphso&t=3m08s

We passed on Cordarrelle Patterson or Justin Hunter so we could get a Damon Huard and a 7th round pick. Baffling awful trade. Trading away from real talent in order to reach on a few more less talented guys makes no sense and is awful strategy. Had we added Hunter instead of Dobson, everything is ok. Though I think Dobson will do well, he will not be nearly as good as Hunter or Patterson would have been on this team.

I hope Harmon and the 7th rounder can make up what will be the very large difference.

What does Damon Huard have to do with anything?

What about the 4th round pick obtained in the trade?

If Logan Ryan, the 4th round pick (or whatever picks that becomes, if traded) and/or the 7th rounder acquired from Minnesota become useful contributors, do you promise to not post in next year's draft thread?

No.

We could have gotten Ryan with our own 3rd rounder IMO. Clearly it is debatable whether he plays much anywhere given that he will be behind 3 starting caliber corners and a 4th in Ras I. The 4th and 7th rounders are crap shoots.

Regardless, I think we break 600 points with either Patterson or Hunter. That is an enormous disparity.

What's great about your arguments in these threads is that since there is no way to definitively prove you wrong, you take no responsibility if you are making a terrible argument.

If Logan Ryan goes on to be a star you just say "oh they could have gotten him later"

If the guys added with the later picks become stars "oh it doesn't matter, they could have found other ways to get those picks, with Patterson they'd have been 16-0 instead of 14-2"

I look forward to you blaming every loss on the Pats lack of Patterson/Hunter while you simultaneously celebrate the contributions of Ryan et al.

Frankly, I expert more out of you, Murts.

Health permitting, we are going to beat up on our horrible division. We are going to run up the score on average or below average teams. We are going to make the play-offs. We are going to win our division.

The only game(s) I am thinking of, when I am wondering what 'needs' we have, are our recent play off losses. All that statement you just made really said was I will celebrate when Logan Ryan has success in the playoffs, but we still more than likely lose anyway because our one dimensional offense gets stopped.

The relationship works both ways. No way of saying Collins or Ryan would have been there, but there is no way of saying they wouldn't have. Yes, I am the one making the assumption, but in comparison to just the wide receiver, they are borderline luxury picks. No so much Collins as definitely Ryan.

So what, if/when we lose in the playoffs next year because we only score 13 or 15 points, am I going to say this trade was a massive mistake because we passed on a surefire stud receiver in favor of a back up corner and pass rusher who, while good, doesn't help the offense must more than a touchdown and a few field goals? Yes.

I am hung up on a stud receiver more than any other position because it is a stud receiver, and NOT a Jamie Collins type DE, or 4th string CB, etc who would have made the BIGGEST difference in our play off losses to the Ravens, Giants, and Jets.

Yes, I may enjoy watching Logan Ryan shine in garbage time against horrible teams in the regular, but I would be - SHOCKED - if Ryan even sees the damn field in a playoff game next season. All that needs to be said regarding his 'impact'.

Pretty sure a premier pass rusher would have helped beat the Giants.

Pretty sure a better backup CB than Marquice Cole would have been great once Talib was hurt vs. Baltimore

Pretty sure a better CB than Antwuan Molden would have helped beat the Giants

Pretty sure an elite pass rusher would have helped beat Baltimore

I'm pretty sure there are 52 other roster spots on the team than one starting WR. I know you like to ignore those spots or just assume they will be good enough, but that's just not reality.

Of course it would have, but not as a much as stud wr.

True, but that (depth issues) applies to every position.

Yes, but not as much as a stud wr.

Yes, but not as much as a stud wr. 13 points, bro.

I do not ignore or assume anything, they warrant addressing. But we're also talking about impact. Patterson would have solved our top WR woes for - at least - the rest of Bradys career.

Imagine never hearing NBT whine for a top WR ever again.
