I honestly could see us taking a TE or DB in 2nd.

I am happy about the talent we drafted today.
But I am praying we draft a talented OL for the love of GOD.

I am not OK with a ransom & a 4 - 5 yr deal for a 29 yr old Albert, screw that !
Id rather tough it out & have Winston battle Martin at LT.

With the horizontal approach they take I would have to think it's going to be a CB at 54. Hopefully Ireland can stay ahead of the run on corners in the 2nd. Then hopefully the Chiefs flinch and accept 77 for Albert, and then at 82 they would have plenty of options because I would say our most pressing needs have been filled.

Im hoping Jamar Taylor slips to 54. But I would also be happy with Poyer in round 3.

According to my horizontal board, assuming our biggest needs are:

OT, OG, TE, CB, S in that order...

Menelik Watson
Zach Ertz
Travis Kelce
Jamar Taylor
Jordan Poyer
Darius Slay
Johnathan Cyprien

Are all players at those positions in order with a second round grade. The following are high third rounders that could get pushed up depending on runs.

David Bakhtiari
Brian Winters
Vance McDonald
Johnathan Banks
Logan Ryan
D.J. Swearinger

I would love Taylor at 54, great measurables and a lot of people had a 1st round grade on him. Would be a great addition, I just have a feeling he's unfortunately not going to be there.

If Ertz, Taylor, or Cyprien are there then I think we take one of them over the Albert trade. Not a big fan of shelling out that money for him after our free agency. It time to build through the draft and work out that Davone Bess deal.

If the trade for Albert doesn't go down for whatever reason, I'm in favor of rehashing the Winston talks and bringing him on board to start at RT and drafting Bakhtiari in round 3 and having him compete with Martin and most likely just sitting on the bench and learning for a year. I also think OG's can be had in the mid to later rounds and come in and compete. I like Schwenke and Barrett Jones later. I think Louis is going to come in and eventually win that RG slot from Jerry at some point. I like Kelcie at TE because of his blocking ability. But I think Ireland stays with the play maker approach in round 2 and snags a CB or safety, I'd be thrilled if Cyprien was still there at safety, and CB's deep so if Cypriens not there I can see the Dolphins grabbing one of the CB's you mentioned.

They could use a 2nd and a 3rd to move up for Cyprien since they do love his skillset. Bess could be used as well.

Right now using the horizontal/need board I think the top 5 are:

1. Menelik Watson OT
2. Jamar Taylor CB
3. Jonathan Cyprien SS
4. Zach Ertz TE
5. Larry Warford OG

Obviously if Watson or Taylor are gone you have to see whether the likes of Armstead or Banks have a second round grade (and if so where they slot in on the board - probably after Cyprien but ahead of Ertz and Warford).

If its true that talks would continue after the first then I think we trade for Albert. I don't think we're interested in a 2nd round OT. Philbin seemed to like Garner so if we won't trade for Albert then I have a feeling Garner will be our RT and we go DB at 52.

Garner has a snowballs chance in hell of starting 10 - 12 gms.
That is the absolute worst possible gamble we could make.

Dude is built & drafted as the "ultimate weed eater"
He'll get you outta any jam you can possibly run into in the Oline on a temp basis.
But don't tempt fate thinking he can hold up for a season.

His ultimate value is in his versatility & insurance coverage.

I am just hellbent on avoiding the blackmail/ransome deal with KC & B. Albert. Don't like it one bit.
He's too old for too long of a contract & way overpriced !
We need to make every possible effort to draft an OG or a OT tomorrow.
We cannot go into next yrs draft with the mindset of drafting 3 OL.

Get Winston in here on a 2 - 3 yr deal & draft a OG or OT.
Enough with all the Sexy Toys" we've acquired, lets get some Beefcake in front of Tanney & build this
thing to go deep in the Playoffs !

I'm hoping for Watson, Ertz, or Poyer. I would be thrilled with anyone of them.

Right now I'm hoping for a move to sign Winston as the team RT....it is not ideal, but neither is giving up a pick for Albert (though for a 3rd Very Happy )

As for the 54th....there is no reason the team can't package a later pick and move up 5 - 10 slots to get someone they covet.

Damn, these two keep slipping my mind (how do the Cowboys not get Jones if they needed a center?) I like both....a lot.
