Cordarelle Patterson [WR] Tennessee

Height: 6017
Weight: 216 lbs

Redshirt Junior

31 3/4" arms
9" hands
76 1/4" wingspan

Combine

4.42 40 YD Dash (1.60 10 YD Split)
37" Vertical Jump
10'8" Broad Jump

Quote:
STRENGTHS: Solidly-built frame with good length…fluid with initial burst and strength to release and gain separation…excellent field vision, controlled footwork and speed…very good change of direction with a strong plant foot to make sharp cuts…natural feel as a ballcarrier to weave through defenses…tough and confident with the belief no one can tackle him…uses his body well to make contested grabs…productive with 10 total touchdowns in 2012 (5 receiving, 3 rushing, 2 on returns).

WEAKNESSES: Still developing as a route runner and will tip his patterns…tends to have concentration lapses and drop easy ones, running before securing…needs to scale back the on-field physicality, getting away with obvious push-offs…bad habit of stopping his feet when running room isn’t there, too often searching for the home run instead of taking what’s available…needs to eliminate mistakes on special teams…just one year of FBS experience…some maturity, football IQ concerns.

SUMMARY: Top JUCO recruit a year ago…Tennessee did a nice job finding ways to get him the ball, often lining him up in the backfield as well…physically strapped-together and not afraid to use his aggressive nature…not quick-twitch but quick-footed with acceleration to out-run defenders…has flexible ankles to make strong cuts and the vision to create…still unpolished in a lot of areas and needs to mature, but a versatile and productive all-purpose weapon with obvious NFL upside.

Wow, a lot to give up for a player with a number of question marks. Having flashbacks of Troy Williamson.

Manti Te'o thoug

I've said I'd be happy with Hopkins, Hunter, or Patterson in the first, so I'm happy

I dont get it. If you love him that much take him earlier.

Does this mean we sign Urlacher?

I really hope I'm wrong about Patterson...

At the very least he's a dynamic returner.

Makes ya wonder about Urlacher.. I don't mind this move at all we get our number one guy and we get great value with three picks in first.

I wanted him so bad at 23 or 25, to see we still got him is awesome. 3 1st rounders, can't complain.

I foresee a Brian Urlacher signing.

Again, not my first choice of WR but I trust Spielman made the right choice. Patterson will have a great opportunity to produce in year one. He will face a lot of single coverage and if we get the ball to him quick on those coverages, oh boy. Also becomes a terrific deep threat for us.

Love the player a lot. I am a believer. But they just traded two starters and a backup for him. He better be really, really good.
